It is World Space Week, so here is my first offering.
This is The Southern Pinwheel galaxy, #C70, #M83, or #NGC5236 . About 15MLy away, this is one of the few spiral galaxies that is face-on to us, giving a beautiful view of the barred spiral form.
This was shot over three nights with my #Dwarf3 in #PerthWA using a couple of different exposures and filter combinations to bring out various details and colours. Postprocessing in Dwarflab's Stellar Studio and #Snapseed to finish.

Captured by ALMA, this image of galaxy M83 depicts the light emitted by cold gas molecules, the ingredients of star formation. Images like this one allow us to map how the density and temperature of these gas clouds change in different locations within a galaxy. And in turn, understand whether stars form differently in different galactic environments.
