  1. OK, here's a revolutionary idea:

    > #Stability is a #Revolutionary idea

#Capitalism cannot permit stability, because capitalism requires constant growth, which requires constant change. Therefore to achieve a stable society a society which lives within global resource limits and therefore can continue indefinitely, we must first overthrow capitalism.

Yes, this thought was provoked by an @Eceni podcast, but it wasn't directly in the podcast. She often provokes thought.

  6. 🚀 Whoopsie, Jordy just stumbled upon a #revolutionary method to make #LLMs forget things faster than your goldfish 🐠. Apparently, if you let them play with your code long enough, they'll become expert amnesiacs, suggesting things you threw out hours ago 🕰️. So, if you want your life to feel like Groundhog Day, just call it "program analysis". 🎉

  7. Policies like #sovereign #housing #endowments have a strong correcting influence in a synergistic fashion. Achieving #revolutionary results without the bodies or the impossible #legislation. #SHEs make EVERYBODY money, even those that will balk because they are taking pay cut from milking that cow.

Revisiting the Difference Between Mutual Aid and #Charity

    2025

"Much has been made of the distinction between charity and mutual aid. Charity is top-down and unidirectional, while mutual aid is supposed to be horizontal, reciprocal, and participatory. In practice, however, the majority of today’s self-described mutual aid projects remain more or less unidirectional efforts to provide goods and services to those in need.

"This has contributed to a situation in which conventional non-profit organizations are rebranding themselves with the language of 'mutual aid,' while some anarchists have given up on the concept entirely, fed up with a rhetoric that some say amounts to 'mutual aid being good and radical, and charity being bad and conservative.'

"Is there more to the distinction than this? How could we unlock the revolutionary potential of mutual aid?"

  9. Nguyễn Quyền (1869–1941) was a #Vietnamese #scholar & #AntiColonial #revolutionary #activist who advocated independence from #French #colonial rule. He was a contemporary of Phan Bội Châu & Phan Chu Trinh & one of Tonkin Free School's founders.

"The more I read the more I become aware that the things we studied, our examination system, were wrong – indeed the real reasons for our having lost our country. From that point on I was determined to seize upon our country's literature and on modern learning to awaken our citizenry."

Quyen advocated the modernisation of Vietnam's #education system. Around 1903 or 1904, Quyen met Tang Bat Ho, who had returned from his travels abroad & talked extensively about the modernisation of Japan. In 1904 he met with Phan Bội Châu, but Quyen had little in common with Chau's ideology of using violence to achieve independence. Quyen went on the work with Lương Văn Can & Le Dai in setting up the Dong Kinh Thuc Nghia, which sought to strengthen the Vietnamese people & thereby the likelihood of independence through the training of a new, more modern generation of scholars.

In 1908, Quyen was arrested in a general crackdown by French authorities and sent to jail on Côn Lôn island. He died in the prison which was infamous for torturing political prisoners.

  10. Top Vance aide worked for far-right consultancy with extremist links

A senior aide to Donald Trump’s running mate, JD #Vance, once worked for a far-right political consultancy that touts its capacity for “#clandestine #actions” and has links to a network of extremist groups and think tanks, the Guardian can reveal.

#Parker #Magid was recently appointed as Vance’s press secretary
His employment history links Vance and his circle to elements of the extremist right far outside the mainstream of American politics.
    Vance’s staffer links him to 🔸Beck & Stone🔸 (B&S) and its subsidiary political consultancy 🔸Knight Takes Rook🔸 ( #KTR ).
The brand consultancy with a business address in New York is close to Vance allies including the far-right #Claremont #Institute,
the serial Arizona political candidate #Blake #Masters and the
    #counter-#revolutionary” magazine IM–1776.

B&S was founded in 2014, according to statements by its founders, #Andrew #Beck and #Austin #Stone. Initial company filings in Florida date from April 2015. Its current Florida filings give an address that is a UPS store in New York City.

Beck, also 🔸a Claremont co-founder🔸, is closely involved with the ♦️Society for American Civic Renewal♦️ ( #SACR ), a secretive invitation- and men-only fraternal lodge that has been the subject of extensive previous reporting in the Guardian.

  11. Since before 2015 i have had this dream of starting a type of anarchist academy in stockholm. A school. A learner hub. A permanent place where people can find anarchism for the first time, or engage in deeper level analysis. A place where radical and anti-authoritarian pedagogy is explored and nurtured.

Over the last 6 months these ideas have once again become increasingly intrusive and I believe that this might actually be something I want to spend time and energy doing.

The first and foremost problem is that of finding those who want to be part of the pedagogic crew, the ones who would be the "teachers" but not in the traditional sense, rather the ones who can help participants create courses, lectures and structure learning. The second question is all about how other peoples projects along similar lines have gone, and what the main taleaways from those projects could be.

So, I guess this is a first attempt at asking for help. Are u an anarchist teacher? How would you do this? What are the things you see as possible downfalls? Have you already done this, and in that case where do I find your stuff?
