At the cove's edge, the shadows revealed soul-nixing follies. Lewd leisure made skin shiver in disgust.
Take a breath mint, and move on.
They say, these places have love for sale. But they really sell bodies, in increments, left a little more hollow after each deal.

To the still one beholding me, and my path
benevolently turned towards
never saying a word too much
yet, each one reaches with mildest touch:
You matter. - I wanted you to know
The quiet care you gently show...

Ninguid cars block the sidewalk. Snow primped tin forms a guard of honour. A thick layer of ice on top, the frog in my throat hibernates. Once bewitched by your charm, I guess, it was fun while it lasted. For you, anyway.
