Saw a wonderful Star Wars illustration by Dane Madgwic on the side of a box & thought I'd homage it using my miniature practically shot photography skills.
I used cotton wool for fire, sky, real smoke, a bit of tree bark for the rocks, lighting and figures.

This one was not *quite* that, but we love the slow-mo identification of the people and parts of this photos (including a familial connection) happening over eleven years.

Manicomio di R, a long-abandoned neuropsychiatric hospital in Italy. The term manicomio translates to "madhouse". These institutes were broadly similar to UK and USA historical mental asylums in their function and archaic treatments.
The site opened in the 1870s and held over 600 patients suffering from a wide range of conditions, from dementia to violent maladies.
New laws abolished manicomio in the late 1970s.

A #LeafMiner on the underside of a large green leaf (it moved from the topside to the underside as I was preparing to photograph it, but I managed to get into a position from which I could photograph the underside of the leaf.

Backyard Bees
The onion flowers are coming into full bloom right now and the bees are loving them. I was able to use my Ricoh GRIIIx to get the close ups of the bees on the flowers in these photos.
We also harvested the smallest watermelon from the backyard watermelon patch this year. I put it up next to a quarter to give the scale of just how small it was before a chipmunk (I assume) knocked it off the…
