Nothing like a little brayer cleanup to improve a stagnant piece! The gold bits, top and bottom, are new, and show off all the texture that wasn’t as obvious before. This is a reworking of a piece I had printed on wood, so I've got a sturdy substrate to experiment with.

I've been working on editing my "Reincarnates as the Unlovable Villainess" playthrough this week! Juggling it with the new job has been a bit slow going, but I am making some progress. I also made this calendar graphic for tracking the days. (I need to fix this to just be 30 days lol) #wipwednesday

#WIPWednesday I was about to say that I just cleared off the pillow for our upcoming lace retreat--we are doing "early lace" samplers and I'm psyched for that.
But I do, of course, have more pillows... And this one is the one I use to demonstrate Ipswich lace. Our lace group is doing a Revolution 250 event in Sudbury MA on the town common this weekend.

I did it! Almost had the last row finished last night, but it was bedtime so I did the last few stitches this morning instead.
Now just to wait for it to dry from this half-hearted pre-blocking, seam the front and back panels together, add a border round the bottom, realise it's indecently short and add more border again, block it properly, weave in all the ends, and hope like hell the blue slip I've ordered to go under it fits because that was surprisingly hard to find on the modern internet.
Basically done, right?! 😅

Could it be I finally understand how to draw in pen?
I haven't mentioned it before, but I have dysgraphia. I like drawing in pencil because the softness is forgiving, allowing one to build up a line over multiple tries. Ink always felt direct and intimidating, and I guess part of me had written it off as just not being for my hand. Pretty foolish in retrospect.
