I remember when I found the #knife in the car (being defleeted and sold to a work colleague) - she was quite alarmed and her first thought was asking if it should be handed in to #Police

I couldn't see any evidence it had been used in crime (vehicles previous owner before it ended up on our fleet was working in construction/trades and simply forgot about it), so it went on my tool trolley.

I last used it to open a cardboard box containing a starter battery, I am going on long drive this weekend through multiple regions so now need to check my car to make sure its not anywhere "close to hand"

Which is how #crime impacts society - #criminals rarely win as they get caught and sent to #prison - but everyone else loses in the process (the case will also be used to justify further #CCTV use)

Some particularly chilling things about this #domestic #murder case in #Norwich #Norfolk are how effective #CCTV is in the city ( main cameras are *very* high quality HD images), offender was previously an *employee* of Norfolk #Constabulary and a craft #knife was used as the murder #weapon.

Such a knife is more widely available and doesn't raise many eyebrows when purchased by a middle aged adult man - but would also take a lot more premeditation to use effectively to cause serious harm than larger "zombie #knives" that gang members prefer..

And because of men like him I have to be paranoid about keeping a Sealey craft knife in my car (retrieved from a former fleet vehicle and used for peaceful purposes) in case I ever get a random stop check..

Worrying aspect of this #crime is offender clearly knows he will get #prison for stabbing someone, and appears to have already researched sentence he would get and still is prepared to commit the offence for just £20 -whilst he's mistakenly picked the highest minimum tarriff for an adult offender committing #murder in public rather than a juvenile (its about 16 years these days), even that wasn't a deterrent.

If he had the #knife since Year 9 that means he has been routinely carrying it and preparing to use if for 2-3 years..

If #ToxicMasculinity isn't addressed in #British society (which needs to start before primary school age!) we are never going to solve the problems with overcrowded #prisons as they will keep filling up with lads like this..

Ils mesurent 12cm
L' #acier est carbone, le manche est en #bois de buis. Les rivets en laiton. Les décorations sont faites à la lime, noircies au charbon après avoir huilé le manche.
Je ne sais pas à quoi ils servaient, c'est petit.

Hurrah for #Victorinox! Almost 30 years ago I got - as a gift - one of their knives, a gentleman's multi-tool. It had all the tools a gentleman needs: a cigar cutter, a bottle opener, a cork screw, and a knife. Plus some others. But after all that time it was getting a bit poorly. Everything was blunt, the joints were stiff and out of alignment. So I posted it to them, and a month later it came back as good as new.

Least pocket-friendly knife of its size. Built-in clip is going to skin your knuckles if you hit your hand on it wrong. Difficult to slip onto a pants pocket with one hand, at least if the fabric is loose like my cargo shorts are. If you are reaching into your pocket for something else, the cheese grater feature on the side facing your hand is diabolical.

If you absolutely need an automatic knife with a button rather than flipper mechanism but are in a location where there is a blade length limit… this is simply not the best choice. Takes two hands to close, significant dexterity in one hand, or something like a table or board to push against. Really glad I got one of these so I can stop looking at them online thinking they look cool. #knife #pocketknives #Boker
