Today’s #SciArtSeptember prompt is the colour ruby, so I made a handprinted lino block print of a male ruby-throated hummingbird above Canada columbine (also called red columbine) flowers. These gorgeous little hummingbirds are important pollinators, with a preference for red flowers so I thought the columbine was a good fit. I found some metallic red pigment and made some ink for his ruby red throat.

2 Cardinal and one Robin nests. Babies are all gone now. There are more, I just can't reach them. We also have at least one #hummingbird family but I can't find theirs. Fun in the #garden !

I took a 5 minute walk around our backyard just now and these are some of the things I saw. It's been a fairly successful year, even with the wonky weather.
