'Let Us Satisfy'
#Cyanotype on tissue paper. Approx 3.5 x 1.8mA 'stained glass window' made for #York Library, using source material from an #archive collection of #StainedGlass makers in York.
I made full-size digital collages (first image), which I used as negatives to print the cyanotypes.

This stayed up 6 months longer than planned as it proved very popular with library visitors.

The Priory has the largest display of 15th century stained glass in the UK, but also this modern window.

Update on the stained glass. Everything went pretty well. Lots of little issues, but those are just lessons for next time.
On to making a wood frame. This is a 50th anniversary present for my parents (this Saturday!). The north side of the mountain is one of their very favorite places.

"#BruceDavid’s magnum opus is a #psychedelic #lithograph depicting practically the entire #Torah. Over eight months, #David filled it with a plethora of hidden symbols: If you look closely, you can see #Joshua blowing a #shofar, which hugs the #Israeliflag. Squint even more and you’ll notice Joshua’s face is the flared end of an even bigger shofar that encompasses the #TenCommandments, a shofar made up of dozens of small people, seven of whom hold flames as if making a human #menorah.
To understand every hidden image in just this one #painting would take more words than I have space for. David gave me the “short version” of the piece’s story on Zoom — it still took six minutes.
Although David has now spent decades making #Jewish #art — #prints, #mosaics, #stainedglass and #metalworks — and exhibiting it across the country, it wasn’t what he had anticipated doing with his life."

A NER alatt sajnos elég nagy esély volt arra, hogy "újjá építik" a már több, mint száz éve szándékosan romnak konzervált templomot, ezzel elvéve annak varázsát.
Csak nem értem továbbra sem, hogy miért.
A Lehel téri Árpád-házi Szent Margit-templom pontos és működő mása a zsámbéki romteplomnak. Tehát, nem kell "restaurálni", mert létezik a restaurált mása...Sebaj! Remélem, hogy azok a tervek most szépen eltűnnek a süllyesztőben.
