Is anyone else seeing that web apps are looking boring? I keep coming across the same tired skeleton that has been fleshed out with different content. In a single research session, I end up reading from 4 sites with identically bad UIs. The hacker color schemes and themes were cool and interesting when designers designed them but now, generated ad nauseam? 🥱

Many of these themes are difficult to read and their interactive elements are not obvious. It's clear they weren't created with human UX at the forefront.

If I need to scroll DOWN your page I do not want a competing box that scrolls ACROSS the page that will take over the scroll direction as I pass it and actually make it damned hard to scroll PAST it.

I will never want this. Whatever you've put in that box isn't worth it.

If you feel you simply MUST do this, at least make the box diminutive in height and not spanning the whole page, so it's relatively easy to get past!
