  2. As long as we have a military, we are grateful to those individuals of good character who choose to serve. Each United States service member has sworn an oath of allegiance to the U.S. Constitution.

Especially considering the current Commander in Chief and Secretary of Defense, we are grateful that all our immediate family members’ commitments of service have been completed.

The final military assignment of our most beloved living veteran—our son, who served in the U.S. Navy—was as part of the NATO Coalition providing the first Ukrainian defense. He followed a line of family members who also served honorably, including our beloved dad, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Pacific during World War II.

  3. Our #RemembranceDay events usually feature a choir singing the Flanders Fields poem. Sometimes 'Danny Boy' as well.

Here's an audio recording I captured live a good 20yrs ago now. It's at the same location shared above, on a cool September evening. Even with a bit of wind noise, it gives me the chills to listen to it still.

  4. As #Canadians vote for our new Prime Minister, lest we forget how #PierrePoilievre used #RemembranceDay to denigrate activists and organizers he deemed “too woke” via his populist X account.

"What an absolute disgrace that so many woke activists & authorities used Remembrance Day to push their divisive and radical causes, denigrating our history and the brave military members who sacrificed for it," Poilievre said in a social media post Tuesday.

Divide and conquer is not a strategy that will unite #Canada against our true shared threat, fascist America and it’s war on truth.
