Mid-October. An anemone peony flower bud has emerged.
I got a bag of bulbs in August for $1 & they looked almost all dead. Planted them anyways & hoped for the best. All except 1 bulb germinated 😃💚👍 Fab botanical surprise.

I always look behind me when I am out in the woods to visually memorize the path for when I got back, to check if some wildlife is following me (cougars) and to look at the view. I'm glad I did earlier this week or I would have missed this.
