It's not some random group of publishing staff who are reworking the books. It's the estate of Roald Dahl, who are doing it to make them more marketable. Either you're for that or against it, but the books aren't being "censored" by random people. The same thing was true of Dr. Seuss.
Oh, also, Roald Dahl was an unrepentant racist and antisemite. Yeah. Look it up. Sorry to ruin your childhood. Pretty sure whatever they do to his books is fine, unless they're making them more bigoted in some way.
