Since we’re sharing #dragon art for #Smaugust, here’s one of mine, from my #ChineseZodiac series.
The dragon is a near-universal figure in world mythologies and has quite complex symbolism. In China, the dragon is more benign than in most Western legends, and the powerful creature is the fifth in the 12-year zodiac cycle. Dragons with five claws are reserved for the Emperor- this is a three-clawed dragon, speaking the character "long" for dragon. https://minouette.etsy.com/listing/32389736

This morning I felt like carving another #ATC #stamp . It's an old, glarly tree. I should really craft some kind of viewfinder because I didn#t manage to place the stamp on my pre-cut ATCs. I think I'll just stamp a few on paper and then cut it out accordingly.

I really like how this little cyanotype turned out!
This one of a kind cyanotype (5.5" x 7.5") is made with wildflowers (false-dandelion, buttercup and bedstraw) and some small fern leaves. Petals are sprinkled giving a sense of movement in the wind.

Unfortunately, I don't have money to donate, but I want to try to do something useful for my mutuals with direct aid fundraisers. So I started working on a series of small linocut stamps.
The stamps are only about 1 by 2 inches (from a 9 x 12" block cut into 40 pieces) and I will use each one to highlight a fundraiser, and hopefully help reach people who can donate. -

Ack! Noticed when it dried, the first layer bled through the black! Might need to wait 48h instead before applying the black layer. Also carved the background layer to minimize overlap. Giving it another run in a day or two, hopefully it turns out better.

Working on a small collection of 12 #birthday #flowers linocuts. Every month has its own flower, according to the internet and the Victorians, apparently?
When they’re all done, I can make small prints where you put the flowers for your family next to each other. So you can make your own little family birth month print. Should I add them to my Etsy/KoFi shop as prints?

It’s #WorldLionDay. This is an original first edition lino block print showing a lioness and a lion, sitting in the grass, watching. I was inspired by a photograph my mother took in the Ngorongoro conservation area in Tanzania. It is called, “The Watchers, Ngorongoro”. The photo gives the strong impression the lions are watching the people back.

First batch of 6 is done! Getting everything right was so much work and just deciding on format and materials was overwhelming, but I'm so happy with the results! The oil based inks are so much better.

First pass of the first run! The new inks are oil based and dry slower, so it wasn't as stressful which I appreciate greatly. They were supposed to clean up with soapy water but there was no way. Mineral spirits did the trick just fine tho.
