What does it mean to do digital history?

New epistemic horizons, new epistemic responsibilities!

At least that’s what we say in the (27p long) introduction to our Ambix special issue on computational approaches - that I think could also be a helpful read for those new to the topic 🤔
What do you think? Let me know!

Happy birthday to British-born, American #astrophysicist Margaret Burbidge (1919-2020) who was one of the people instrumental in building our understanding of stellar nucleosynthesis, how nuclei are produced in stars & you and I are all stardust! She was the 1st author of a monumental scientific paper Synthesis of the Elements in Stars, which became known as B2FH from the initials of its authors: 🧵1/4

To mark the occasion, I've written a blog on my publisher's website about the natural wonder of sexual polymorphism—and why Richard Dawkins' view of Darwin needs some clarification. 🌈📚 :transgender: 🦋

  29. I'm hyperexcited that QUEER ORIGINS will be published in the UK on Tuesday!

Just a reminder that discount code HSS26 (from the recent history of science conference in Edinburgh) gets you a cracking 30% off the book from my publisher's website until the end of August: yalebooks.co.uk/book/978030028.

As it stands, I think it remains the cheapest way to buy it (£17.50 with free UK postage). 🏳️‍🌈 📚️ 🦋
