@anna's colleagues are doing really good work; creating assistive technology and developing free open source software mobile apps.
We have now started developing a free, open-source app that can run on any mobile phone and laptop that provides “live captioning” of dysarthric speech, personalized to the dysarthric speaker.
A lot of us technology/software enthusiasts are not feeling great these days. But this is the kind of technology we can still get excited about. Please send them a few bucks/quids/moola/coins if you can.

Fundraiser voor wetenschappelijk onderzoek gericht op het helpen van mensen met dysartrie.
Mijn collegas Yuanyuan Zhang en Odette Scharenborg zijn bezig met het onwikkelen van een ondertitelingsapp voor Nederlandse sprekers met een spraakafwijking.
Ze hebben een eerste studie gedaan, waarin ze een klein corpus van geannoteerde spraak hebben aangelegd, op basis van de spraak van twee vrijwilligers met dysartrie: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2606.30237
Nu hebben ze meer geld nodig om de spraak vast te leggen van nog meer vrijwilligers. Diversiteit in spraak helpt om zo'n ondertitelingsapp voor een grotere groep gebruikers beschikbaar te maken.
