There is, to be clear, a real possibility that the National Assembly *does* have the legal power to ignore the Constitution and set its own rules for who may sit as a deputy; parliamentary supremacy is an important principle in a government founded on the British constitutional model.
But we don't want to discover in 2028 that none of the laws passed by Québec since this Fall's election are valid.

#Drought has been increasing across BC but it is particularly bad in the Okanagan, Nicola & Thompson regions; conserving water is critical and will continue to be into next season.
Okanagan Lake is already at its lowest level on record. “If we don’t have significant recharge in those areas, in those watersheds, we’ll start next season in potentially an even worse situation than we are this summer.”

The letter addressed to Mark Carney & Danielle Smith came from the Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs. It was released Sunday, a day after the B.C. government issued a state of emergency as more than 100 wildfires burned across the province, with one forcing nearly 25,000 people across two communities east of Vancouver to flee. Nearly half of the wildfires were burning out of control.
