At this rate, Canada will be more aligned with the EU, and have greater trade ties, than the UK - Brexit was such a mistake

Iran figured out that they cannot negotiate with the US Administration. Canada needs to figure this out as well.

Trump read Mein Kampf for instructions, not as warning.
So Mark Carney read Klein's 'Shock Doctrine'
"Whether covering Baghdad after the U.S. occupation, Sri Lanka in the wake of the tsunami, or New Orleans post-Katrina, she witnessed something remarkably similar."

👉 "People still reeling from catastrophe were being hit again, this time with economic 'shock treatment', losing their land and homes to rapid-fire corporate makeovers"👈

Working on writing yet another few angry letters to government sellout assholes. I don't even know why we have any governments anymore when politicians feel free to break laws whenever they want without any real living consequences.

Humans remain STEADFAST in not learning a single thing about what we have already experienced inre #ClimateChange, let alone making ANY changes in how we do things. #cdnpoli

Of course there's separatists within the separatists who want an Alberta nation/not be part of Canada anymore. They're attacking each other, from within. So damn predictable.

@virtuous_sloth Not being a member of the #NDP at any level, I'm probably not the right person to comment. But anyway...
I thought the major difference was that the provincial NDPs principally aim to win elections, and the federal NDP principally aims to be ideogically correct.

Shortest visit ever.
Trump didn't have a chance to rest his cankles before he was "handed his hat'
President of Ireland Catherine Connolly is a fine President. A model to emulate.
Invite her to Canada, pour her a drink.

I found this article shared on Reddit, so I can't be sure it will be readable from here for everybody, but it's worth a read if you can.
It's a sober and presumably well sourced narrative outlining the efforts of the Canadian government and their sympathizers in the #EU to work out a way of irrevocably tying us together on a crash timeline.
If Rupert Murdoch's press is covering this seriously, then I'm going to pay attention and not just assume that it's wishful thinking. The assessment of the challenges, the possible long term benefits (and risks) of #Canada moving much closer to the EU seems to be well thought out.

Some of the protesters outside a recent data centre developers conference in Calgary tell me their concerns.
“..it’s not including new treatments, it’s not including new best practices, it’s not including stuff that’s, you know, culturally competent, because it’s taking 100 years of medical science and vomiting it into a new textbook, which isn’t accurate.”

What about the other 70%?
In an interview with the Toronto Star, Major General Wade Rutland says that Canada is preparing itself for the possibility of large-scale combat and that;
“We are seeing Canada as a theatre of operations now.” https://charlieangus.substack.com/p/pony-fur-and-drone-war-canada-stares

‘The brutal marginalization of working people under these regimes makes violent resistance more likely, including violence directed against their foreign backers in Canada, Europe, and the US. Yet most Canadians remain largely oblivious to their government’s corporate-influenced complicity in these continuing injustices.
Judging by recent events, the US and its allies have learned little from the horrors of 9/11.’ https://canadiandimension.com/articles/view/whose-violence-counts-as-terrorism

@chris $6 a gallon for diesel is a killer - BC truckers are now refusing to go on Oregon/California runs as it's too expensive - so on top of the boycott on US products, they simply won't be coming in

As Pippa says, please consider writing RBC, BMO, and your MP if you think that giving the USA jurisdiction over "approximately one in three payment transactions across Canada" is elbows-down and foolish.
Remember "stopped at the border" can mean "flown to a jail in El Salvador, indefinitely."
Canadians' data could be available, not only to foreign governments, but foreign law enforcement agencies.
She gave an example of U.S. border agents potentially checking an individual's transaction history before allowing them to enter the country.
"Will you be stopped at the border because your purchase records indicate that you bought something with THC?" she said, referring to a chemical compound found in cannabis, which remains illegal in the U.S. under federal jurisdiction.

Hey Canadians! 🇨🇦 👋 Have you considered that defunding Canada Post might hurt us?
See how right now de-servicing the USA mail system is used to subvert democracy?
Take note!
