  11. #MarkCarney is attempting to force #Canadians into a “let the motherfucker burn” moment in regards to #climatechange and our country’s response.

Turncoat #Liberals and their supporting #Corporations are tripling down on #climatedestruction with new #pipelines, #aidatacenters, and #LNG, despite the majority of Canadians opposing abandoning our climate goals.

After all our work fighting Climate Change, Corporate propaganda now tells us “It’s inevitable, get used to it”.

What’s made clear is that the #economy means more to corporate owned politicians than our communities or our votes.

Ultimately, #Corporatism will rule over the people’s interest, no matter how much our communities will pay.

These #neocon #CarneyLiberals gave strategic voters in #cdnpoli exactly what we voted against, a conservative agenda.

This is political fraud, yet few seem to notice due to Carney’s #ShockDoctrine threat of a racist, fascist old fart who will be dead in a year or two.

Carney’s #Liberals are #traitors to our country and this #earth, every single one of them. Vote them all out.

Picture this: a warm summer night in North Wildwood in the 1970s. The salty breeze drifts down Surf Avenue as the soft, romantic melody of “La Seine” floats from the open doors of Club Québec. At first blush, it might sound like a Parisian cabaret, but it’s actually a lively nightclub packed with French Canadians singing along with Montreal's own Michel Louvain. He’s the headliner—but the whole crowd joins in like it’s a hometown concert. This magical scene played out night […]

  13. What To Watch On YouTube Right Now – Part 134

Welcome back my readers, YouTube viewers and all others who followed this series of articles focused on YouTube videos worth watching.

Have you been searching for something fun or interesting to watch on YouTube? Do you feel bored right now and you crave for something to see on the world’s most popular online video destination?

I recommend you check out the following videos I found.

#1 Resident Evil: Apocalypse Reviews, Retrospective And Reaction Videos – After watching the 2002 live-action Resident Evil movie, I left the cinema feeling unsatisfied as it did not have much related to the popular video game series. That film succeeded enough to justify the production of the sequel Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and the first reveal of Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine (based on her appearance in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) caught my attention. The reveal of Raccoon City getting hit by the zombie apocalypse and the casting of Oded Fehr as Carlos Oliviera (another RE3 character) interested me. In September 2004, I saw Resident Evil: Apocalypse on opening day in the local cinema and I was entertained for the most part. The Milla Jovovich-led film was indeed flawed, but it was an enjoyable improvement over its 2002 predecessor. How Resident Evil: Apocalypse fares with the YouTubers is something you must see.

#2 The Planned California City That Failed – Have you ever heard of Salton City? It was a planned city in the state of California located along the Salton Sea. It was designed as a resort community capable of supporting forty thousand residents, and it was to have the complete systems of water, roads, sewer and energy. Salton City is a ghost town and the in-depth YouTube video I found will help you realize its history and why development failed.

#3 Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire Game Revisited – Back in the mid-1990s, George Lucas’ entertainment group launched the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire multi-media project which told what happened between the movies The Empire Strike Back and Return of the Jedi. The said project was huge even though there was no live action Star Wars movie involved. A Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire novel was released which became the foundation of a comic book adaptation (read my retro reviews here and here), a video game, toys, action figures and merchandise. The video game of Shadows of the Empire was a joint project between LucasArts and Nintendo and its release on Nintendo 64 drew a lot of attention back then. The game itself made gamers – both Star Wars fans and casual gamers – want to get an N64 to play the game. I recently found two in-depth retrospective videos about Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire on N64 and I encourage you all to watch them.

#4 The Embarrassing Woke NDP Of Canada – Have you ever heard about the New Democratic Party? Referred to as NDP for short, New Democratic Party is a very leftist and woke political party in Canada and it had a really bad result in the 2025 federal election. Recently, the NDP had its leadership election and what happened in late March saw a series of awkward and embarrassing moments during their big event. In the videos below, you will see why political correctness, identity politics and wokeness are bad to have, and they made the internal processes of the NDP hard to pull off. In fact, diversity and inclusion zealotry have caused divisions within the NDP’s convention. What happened was funny to watch and it was not a comedy at all.

  21. Fedi Canadian political curiosity of the day:

Was followed by someone with Canadian flag emojis all over their profile. Their bio said they were interested in climate change and social justicey stuff (including hashtag "politics" which will be important later) and said they would "BLOCK" anti-LGBTQ+ folks and racists. It also said #NeverVoteConservative. Nationalism aside, (nationalism is terrifyingly normalised with Canadians) that all seemed good to me but then they followed their line about blocking those bad folks with "Communists --Block" which is ... weird. So, I messaged them and asked why they followed me and also block communists, to which they responded that their vision is partially impaired right now, and they didn't see "communism" in my bio. They thanked me for telling them and promptly blocked me. They said they are for "degrowth" but without "politics," which seems bizarre to me. Anyone encountered this before? How can you change the way the world works enough to get "degrowth" without "politics"? And why is "communism" "political" but "never vote conservative" not?

(Also, degrowth without communism/anarchism isn't gonna cut it, but that's beside the point.)

    About Murder by Decree

Murder by Decree is an #uncensored #record of the planned #extermination of #IndigenousChildren in #Canada’s murderous Indian #ResidentialSchools. It is issued as a corrective #CounterReport to the miscarriage of #justice by Church and State known as the “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” #TRC. Based on eyewitness #testimonies and #archival #documentation deliberately suppressed or ignored by the TRC, Murder by Decree proves that the #genocide of #IndigenousPeople began as a religion-led campaign and continues to be a deliberate governmental policy in Canada. This Counter Report reveals these startling facts: – Over half of Indian residential school children began dying the very first year these church-run facilities were opened – This huge mortality rate continued unabated for over a half century because of deliberate practices of germ warfare according to a prescribed monthly “death quota” – Evidence of these crimes and their intentional nature has been continually destroyed by the RCMP and the #Catholic, #Anglican and #UnitedChurch since at least 1960 – The same genocide continues today, is aimed at indigenous women and children, and is driven by foreign corporate interests hungry for #NativeLands and resources Murder by Decree is issued by The International Tribunal for the Disappeared of Canada (ITDC), an international #coalition of #jurists and #HumanRights groups. The ITDC was formed in December, 2015 to investigate the disappearance of people in Canada, prosecute those responsible and prevent a further #whitewash by Canada of its #CrimesAgainstHumanity. This report is an answer to these #crimes and an urgent summons to the world and to all #Canadians to live no longer under #genocidal #regimes.

  26. Growing up with a #disability and now working as an #accessibility consultant, I notice these types of barriers all the time. For me, and for the estimated 27% of #Canadians who also have
a disability that affects their day-to-day activities (a number that #StatisticsCanada expects to increase as the baby boomers age), automatic door openers are just the tip of the iceberg.

In 2019, the federal government passed the #AccessibleCanadaAct (ACA), which aims to make #Canada fully #accessible by 2040. Despite this perception that the proverbial needle of accessibility is moving forward, Canada isn’t as accessible as it thinks it is. Many bars and restaurants still lack accessible washrooms; Braille menus and signage are still uncommon; obstacles make it hard for wheelchair users to navigate public spaces.

New findings from #AccessibilityTechnology company #AccessNow corroborated this reality as part of its #research project, Mapping Our Cities for All. Considered Canada’s largest accessibility #ResearchInitiative to date, the project evaluated the state of accessibility at more than 14,000 sites in #Vancouver, #Calgary and #Ottawa. Released last November, the research found that almost 60% of public businesses were only partially accessible or not accessible. Much like my Toronto café, many of these spaces had some accessibility features, like a ramp, but also barriers, such as a bathroom only reachable by stairs.

  31. #Flooding is a challenge affecting everything from economic security, to drinking water & the pursuit of truth & reconciliation. #Canada must adapt to the urgent risks posed by worsening floods. Luckily, numerous pathways exist for individual #Canadians to engage in #CollectiveActions to protect ourselves & our communities.

#ClimateChange is shifting how water moves through landscapes both in our #communities & around the globe. #Information & #awareness is key in this world of changing conditions. However, a 2022 #audit of #FloodRisk preparedness in #Ontario reported that public awareness of personal flood risk & #liability is poor across the province.

Many Canadians are just one bad storm away from an unmitigated watery #disaster. Floods are the most expensive & most frequent type of #NaturalHazard in Canada. An analysis of #insurance solutions for flood risk found that current residential flood risk in Canada is estimated at $2.9 billion per year.

#NatureBased #CommunityDriven #solutions have huge potential to address gaps in #infrastructure, promote resilience & build #ecological knowledge—often at a much reduced cost than traditional hard solutions like seawalls or embankments.

#GreenInfrastructure can also be highly effective along #watercourses where, once established, vegetation helps to filter surface #pollutants, stabilize #erosion & prevent surges of water from spilling over.

Indigenous peoples #coexisted in relative harmony with nature, supported by #diversity of native plants & animals.

True. But most sub-#septuagenarian #Canadians I know think of the (British) #royal family as "those weird-looking people on the #coins and #bills" and nothing more.

If we somehow managed to get a #constitutional #amendment through [1] that removed them as head-of-state, there would be many a dry eye here north of the #border.

  34. A thread for #Canadians, leading up to #CanadaDay.

The #Killam Prizes are the #Nobels of Canada. Hokey pomp & circumstance music aside, this is a *great* episode of #CBC Ideas, demonstrating amazing, world-changing Canadian #research.

So, if #Quebec decided to #separate, what would #Ottawa do?

Reinstate the #draft, train 100,000 #soldiers, #invade Quebec and #kill people until Quebec changed its mind?

The #Americans did that in 1860. Bloodiest #war they ever fought.

Somehow, I don't think Ottawa and #Canadians have the stomach for that.

Hitting them with a rolled-up newspaper is unlikely to work.

    So, what then?

  36. Many #Canadians are also letting their #money do the talking. #Assets in #SustainableFunds hit nearly $38 billion in #Canada last year. But finding the right #investments can be challenging: While a growing number of companies and funds claim #ClimateFriendly credentials, many don't live up to their promises.

  37. Bank accounts of #Canadians frozen, and #bitcoinExchanges co-opted by the neofascist #corporateState.

People in Canada are treated as both #slaves and #terrorists

    …because effective #protest.

Its as if we haven't been saying #BitcoinCoreFixesThis. We repeat for emphasis *Bitcoin Core* (and other #fullNode and #fullCustody systems).

And that 80% of the exchanges are flecking #CloudFlare.
