  1. 1/ I’ve been wanting to do a thread of favorite song covers. I think this cover of a Bob Dylan song by the late Nanci Griffith might be my favorite. In her studio cover of the song on the ‘Other Voices, Other Rooms’ album Bob Dylan plays harmonica, which he reportedly dubbed in when Griffith sent him tape seeking his approval. But I prefer this live version of the song. #Music #Folk #FolkMusic #CoverSongs #BobDylan #Dylan #NanciGriffith #Spain

Like many of his albums, it's controversial among fans. Dylan lays his personal faith on the line which doesn't sit well with many of his tight-ass fans. But the album also welcomes many new fans to the work of Orpheus. He wins a Grammy for best male vocal performance and…

It's the last bookend to his gospel/Christian albums -- Slow Train Coming in '79 and Saved in '80. Unlike those albums, this one deals with mostly evangelical stuff and integrating rock 'n roll into religion.

  8. Another Side of Bob Dylan

#bobdylan #dylan #orpheus #60smusic #folk #folkrock #anothersideofbobdylan #rock #rockmusic #music #musicsky #musiciansky August 8, 1964 ~ Orpheus releases his fourth album. It's different from his previous albums which didn't sit well with some of the tight-asses in the folky community. There weren't any "protest" songs ... but some inward, personal and surreal lyrics .. set Dylan up nicely for what was to follow.
