That's the most in a year since 1978, and the 8th most on record.
(for the rest of the year we average another 175mm, which would put 2026 at a record-breaking ~750mm)

July 18th was our 4th 30°C High of the year. #yegwx #yeg
Historically 4 would have been plenty for us.
But recently we've had our top 3 years with 14 in 2025, 16 in 2024 & 17 in 2021. And some of those happened pretty late into August & September...

LB reminded me, it's now been 25 years since I missed seeing the one time Fugazi played my town because I didn't have the $10 or whatever the ticket cost. Biggest. Regret. Ever. At least there's a bootleg of the show though.

Not sure what took out the instance for a few minutes there, power is still on, but maybe there was something upstream with Telus that was hit.

Hey #YEG, if it's too crowded over at Taste of Edmonton, or if you're just finishing up at the downtown farmers' market, there is lots of room for the live music at O-day'min park. Jams until 10pm, if thunderstorms start away.
But bring your sunscreen. Brand new park means tiny trees that don't provide much shade.
