On Sunday, we have about 8 students, who work on the student farm at Grand Valley State University, stopping by to volunteer their labor, and youthful vigor, to various projects around the #polyculture homestead: making #biochar, pruning the windbreak, putting shiitake #mushroom logs into the pond to soak, wheelbarrowing loads of wood chip #mulch to the #orchard or where needed, moving dried firewood logs out of the woodlot to further process & store for winter fuel, weeding, schlepping urbanite to the ongoing retaining wall projects, harvest peppermint and spearmint, and whatever else we have time for. Many (young) hands make less work for us tired, aching, old farts and we're very grateful.💚

It's almost as if a system didn't want people realizing that they could organize for their own interests. And win them.

How many more doctors might we have if we decommodified housing? How many more engineers? Technicians? Nurses? Musicians?
