You know, I don't think that the #Linux #ZorinOS distribution gets enough love. If you're looking to replace a macOS or Windows box, it's great. Solid, clean UI with some nice customisations. Support for running Windows apps built-in (and it will recommend alternatives for you, too).

Another thing I noticed was that Zorin seems to ship with a touchpad acceleration profile that's a lot more sane than many Linux desktop environments. At least, it's easier for switchers to get used to.

Omarchy. I first heard about it from #NetworkChuck then saw an interview with #dhh on #lexfridman . Hard to not get swept away with DHH’s enthusiasm, especially as I share similar views on AI.

1 minute 50 second install, replacing #zorinos which I’ve been daily driving since March (which had replaced Windows 11 Pro).

It’s an OS with a personality that just works out of the box. I didn’t have to spend millenia installing everything I use.

Why on earth did Firefox just reinstall and/or update itself as a Snap package on my ZorinOS laptop??? What is this?? Erased my profile plus open tabs and tab groups as well. Was installed natively before.
Nothing like that ever happened before on this PC. All automatic updates were and are turned off. Zorin was supposed to be the foolproof and stable option.

It's the first time on Linux I feel windowsd. :'(

Ребяятаааа....! Я крч полностью перешёл с Windows 10 на Zorin OS Core 18.1 и это просто ахунно. Мой друг @syntacticCircuit помог мне со всем, чем только можно. Как я говорила раннее... я тревожный человек и для меня всякие такие штучки с переустановкой кажутся сложными.

Я выбрал Zorin OS Core потому что Windows он очень жёстко съедал память и батарею, но теперь не смотря на некоторые ограничения я всё равно продолжу работу.

Сегодня меня в паничку отправило из-за того что у меня логали все приложения установленные через магазин Snap и Flathub. Так что придётся смириться с этим; а ещё я не знаю как мне поменять раскладку, как на винде. Там клавиши вин + пробел или шифт + альт, а тут приходится всё вручную

А ещё, отдельное спасибо @[email protected]. Ведь он тоже был рядом, давал мне милую и самую ценную поддержку. #ZorinOS #Windows #Linux #bf #friends #gay #queer

Sie nutzen die Arbeit anderer, verändern es ein bisschen und verkaufen es als eigenständig.

Ich hatte in den letzten Monaten schon einige Male berichtet, dass aus meiner Sicht das eine empfehlenswerte Distro ist.

Neben den im Video erwähnten Punkten würde ich noch hinzufügen:

- meines Wissens einzige Distro, die OneDrive sofort korrekt handelt (das hat nichts mit den Online-Konten zu tun)

- beste Touchpad-Unterstützung mit Erkennung von Mehrfinger-Gesten

Checking both #Zorinos and #mintOS for compatibility with my main use cases: #Homebridge and #Jellyfin. So now I wonder which has better disk management, because mount points in Ubuntu have been a nightmare for me in that regard. Trying to specify where an external disk would mount so Jellyfin could see them reliably got me into a bricked state once.
Please don’t come at me telling me editing FSTAB is “easy”. It is NOT.

Which steam games have you played on Linux that work as well as on Windows (and which ones didn't)?

For example, anyone playing #Skyrim? Is it working well for you? I tried it (the steam version) and it was way too slow with just normal (or even lower) graphical settings.

#Subnautica is working fine. #DyingLight seemed OK. #TombRaider4 works well (old, I know). #Left4Dead2 is fine but I haven't tested the multiplayer mode.

Trying to convince more friends to join the Linux wagon, but they like their games..

Edit: thanks to those who answered referring to https://www.protondb.com - that seems very useful to check game compatibility!
