Depuis des années sous #Manjaro, je suis à la fois lassé et énervé des mises à jour foireuses régulières.

J'envisage de migrer vers #Solus qui est aussi en rolling release.
Mais aujourd'hui, je découvre que les mêmes devs travaillent sur #AerynOS (en alpha pour l'instant) qui se veut en rolling release avec un système atomique.
Peut-être la séreinité que je recherche. À voir.

I've been transitioning my home computers from #Manjaro to #Solus #Linux because I noticed that Solus puts out weekly updates and Manjaro moves far more slowly.

I thought I'd give #BTRFS a try instead of #ext4 since on Manjaro, BTRFS has become the default and it worked well.

For some reason, it really didn't play well with Solus. I couldn't log into #Element at all and I had problems running #Cyberpunk2077 with #Heroic.

I reinstalled with ext4 and those problems went away.

I did, for some reason, have trouble installing Heroic from the repo and had to use #Flatpak instead, but I'm getting more comfortable with those. I let the computer redownload CPB2077 overnight and tried to run it this morning. It even remembered my progress, which was a fear.

Was gibt es Neues? Eigentlich nichts. Ich suche seit Jahren nach DEM Linux OS & kehre zu Linux Mint zurück. Eine Community Edition, kein Konzern steht dahinter. Max. stabil & falls Ubuntu wegfallen sollte, gibt es LMDE. Mit Manjaro drang ich in den Arch-Bereich vor, doch ich fand für meinen Anwendungsbereich Schreiben & Videos & Workstation keinen Mehrwert. Einzig Fedora hat mich überzeugt, doch dafür nutze ich durch die Bank zu alte Hardware.

В далёком 2001 году я впервые увидел Linux и понял, что это моё. Шли годы, менялись дистрибутивы и мои требования к ним, но вот недавно я решил закрыть гештальт и научиться играть на электрогитаре. Покопавшись в интернете, наткнулся на кучу обзоров гитарных процессоров, комбиков и программ-эмуляций. Как это часто бывает, крутые коммерческие продукты есть под Windows и Mac, а вот про Linux как-то снова забыли. В принципе, это нормально — иметь две системы под разные нужды. Но иногда очень не хочется перезагружаться, и я решил попробовать настроить свой Manjaro под работу со звуком. Мои первые эксперименты с JACK во времена 4 рубля за мегабайт закончились неудачей, а вот сейчас и знаний, и терпения хватило. Моя система: Manjaro Linux, KDE, Wayland. Аудиоинтерфейс Motu M2.

#Solus #Linux is really starting to grow on me. I've had more frequent updates than #Manjaro.

The smaller software repo is a bit of a pain sometimes, but I've started to embrace #Flatpak.

I've finally cut over from #Manjaro to #Debian Trixie on my desktop PC. The constant updates and frequent long-running compilations for the AUR packages I had really started getting on my nerves, and the Manjaro project seems to be on unsteady ground these days.

Since I'm running Debian or its device-specific derivatives on my servers and #raspberrypi s, I've gotten comfortable with it and am ready for a stable desktop.
