Um relato dos meus sentimentos misturados a respeito do #Manjaro e minha simultânea incompetência e competência:

Nas últimas semanas andei "bootando de um snapshot" no meu micro do dia a dia, e hoje finalmente quebrou tudo e bootava mais. Aí, tome de bootar de um pendrive, e acessar anotações que eu tenho pra fazer o chroot... acho tudo muito difícil pq tenho que decriptar o hd, e montar partições diversas, não manjo exatamente o que estou fazendo, sigo a receita anotada, muitos passos.
Em seguida, reinstalei kernels com pamac -S linuxXX e mhwd-kernel, reinstalar o grub, e usei o mkinitcpio -P pra recriar as "imagens" dos kernels pro boot. Não sei o que resolveu exatamente o problema (tinha tentado esse mkinitcpio -P faz algumas semanas, sem ser bootando do pendrive, e não tinha funcionado)
De um lado sou grato por ter conseguido fazer as coisas funcionarem, grato pelo esforço de muitas pessoas voluntárias fazendo o Manjaro ser teoricamente "mais fácil" pra algumas pessoas, por outro lado acho tudo muito difícil e não consigo imaginar outras pessoas do meu convívio fazendo essas coisas, nem eu consigo entender o que estou fazendo!
Será que não teria como ser mais fácil? Será que um dia vou achar fácil?

Doing a backup of my /home/

It says, still 5k not copied, but it shows 0s left, and on the left side it has a check ✔️.
(Maybe that are the skipped ones, who made problems?)

Anyway... That was my path with Manjaro.

Tomorrow I will try out CaschyOS on my private machine...

Aktuell wird in der Linux-Welt wieder über einen Vorfall rund um das AUR diskutiert. Das #AUR ist eine #Community-Paketquelle für #Arch #Linux und # Systeme wie #CachyOS, #EndeavourOS oder #Manjaro.

I'm going to try #manjaro community iso with #i3wm

the main reason is

- I like arch
- I like i3wm
- I need Nvidia drivers (a friend of mine told me manjaro installs them automatically)
- arch and endeavour give me headaches when using multiple monitors and/or Nvidia drivers WITH multiple monitors

Updating my #Manjaro updated the system's #Python to 3.13, yay!

It broke my #ThonnyIDE which was installed via #pipx, and I'm having torebuild a lot of stuff, not good!

I have been #swearing 🤬 at my Manjaro v24 powered laptop, for forcing me to use the finger pointing thing. Not a keypad. #Touchpad or #trackpad. Or rubbish as it should be called. Prefer the #mouse which was working then suddenly #hiccuped.

I will try again shortly to see if it has #learned any #sense. Or better still if I have. #Manjaro and #GNU-Debian (using that at the moment) are both using #Gnome desktop environment. I always tended towards xfce due to speed and minimum #resources. Never really liked KDE too may options/fiddling about. #Puppy #Linux which I am more familiar with, used some very minimal windowing systems. ​:blobcatstrong:​

Nun, ich bin ja, ich erwähnte es bereits, #DistroHopper. Dass ich aber irgendwie zumindest beim Arch- Unterbau klatschen geblieben bin, muss ich auch nicht gesondert erwähnen. Nun ist zuerst #Manjaro rausgeflogen, zu bevormundend, finde ich. Ein nackiges Arch mit #XFCE- Desktop musste es also sein, zunächst mit #pamac zum Installieren und Entfernen von Software. Nun ist aber auch Pamac rausgeflogen und ich erledige alles in der Konsole, aus Gründen. Was sollte mich also daran hindern, mein EIGENES Arch- Derivat zu bauen? Ein System, dass nichts vor mir versteckt, mir Fehler meldet, Abhängigkeiten anzeigt und all das sichtbar für mich? Meine Maschine, Meine Regeln, meine Software gewissermaßen.
