I met Harold Joe, a #Cowichan based #Indigenous knowledge keeper/teacher, actor & film producer, in 2015. He had come to Victoria to audition for a lead role in the Telus Optik webseries that I worked on for a few years. We casted him.

We've only had 7 team practices in #VictoriaBC's 1st #PilotProgram for #PeopleWithDisabilities, running out of #FairwayGorgePaddlingClub on Jutland in #BurnsideGorge area. After practice wrap debriefing, I performed an Indigenous water song, to honour the waters we train & will be racing on & to protect our team on the waters.

There was a point in time where the plan was to actually have rail all the way to Victoria... as in, you could hop on a train in Victoria and ride the rails all the way to Montreal.
