  1. So the plum tree was attacked by Japanese beetles this year. Totally decimated. Interestingly almost everything else in the garden is fine, the basil they loved last year is undamaged, the grapevine, another beetle favorite, had only a few bite marks.
    Some plums still ripened, and there is a little flower of hope.
