The great eared nightjar (Lyncornis macrotis) is a species of nightjar in the genus Lyncornis. Found in Southeast Asia. It features prominent, golden-brown feather tufts on its head that look like mammalian ears or gives an impression of dragon look. They do not build sticks-and-twigs nests. Their name comes from the fact that it is a nocturnal species and its call is said to be jarring. Their vocalization is an eerie, unmistakable two-part sound—a sharp "tsiik" and a booming "ba-haaww".
