Bee sensible T-shirt
This is another organic cotton T-shirt in adult size from our Scientist and Philosopher range that we have produced on the Teemill platform. Our environment and all living things are under ever creasing pressure from the actions of the human species. We need to act sensibly towards the systems that have allowed us to live the lives we currently lead. Bees especially as well as other pollinators are responsible for much of the food we eat and we must therefore do all we can to keep them healthy. As an individual you can avoid using any man made chemicals in your gardens. On a larger scale you can join groups and protest the use of commercial agrochemicals in our food production.
See how these products are made and how they can be returned and the material reused once they are worn out. Hopefully, this means a lighter load on the environment and on our natural resources. You can even send these items back to be made into new things when you have finished with them. (S&P)

#RNZ has a story today about the Launceston Leioproctus bee, a bee that’s back again in the Ōtautahi-Christchurch area of NZ. This bee had initially been named as a native bee, Leioproctus otautahi, based on a single male specimen collected over 50 years ago, until it was realised that it’s the same species as the Australian bee Leioproctus launcestonensis. Since it hadn’t been seen since, in 2012 NZ bee experts concluded that “the species is almost certainly not established, and the number of species of Leioproctus known from New Zealand is reduced by one to 17.”
Turns out it’s either still here, or it’s arrived again, as five Launceston Leioproctus bees have been photographed in the wider Christchurch area on #iNaturalistNZ since 2021. This is still the only place in NZ where this bee has been found.
It will be interesting to learn how this Australian is getting on with the local native species of Leioproctus.
