Culturally adapted measures, how intersecting identities shape QoL experience, impacts of stigma on QoL, and the roles of socioeconomic factors and cooccurring conditions.

Transparency, standardisation, reproducibility of multimorbidity research made the list!Tired:
Bullet points in figure 1 have more detail on building methodological capacity than the text. Investing in methodologists (of any kind) is not part mentioned as far as I can see. -

An analysis of electronic health records shows that a third of patients with SMI [severe #MentalIllness] in UK #PrimaryCare are excepted from #MentalHealth indicators at least once. Given the persisting health inequalities in people with #SMI this is concerning:

This study used data from national registers to examine the prevalence of multimorbidity in the Danish population btw 2000-2018. They found that the prevalence of #multimorbidity doubled during the study period, with a stronger increase in older age groups:
https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/26335565251331182
For example, the number of people with at least one morbidity was 26.2% in 2000 and 41.9% in 2018; and the prevalence of multimorbidity (disease count) increased from 7.1% to 16.1%. -

Characteristics of older patients undergoing #surgery in the UK: SNAP-3, a snapshot observational study - PubMed https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39765405/ “In the UK, one in five older patients undergoing surgery is living with #frailty, and almost two-thirds of older patients are living with #multimorbidity. These data highlight the importance of frailty screening. “

🎉👩🎓🎓🥂Congrats to Anastasia Lam!
Last week she successfully defended her thesis "Growing old with multimorbidity: how our differences shape the years we live with disease" at the University of St Andrews passing the viva without any corrections.
Well done! 👏

Interesting #CaseStudy in #multimorbidity network visualisation:
https://bmcmedresmethodol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12874-024-02286-3I would challenge the conclusion that only pairs which are selected by multiple statistics should be visualised:
How about using a statistic instead that connects to the underlying theoretical assumptions? -
With view to #multimorbidity I focus on work led by Phuong Bich Tran using our COSMOS /
#IMPACTNIHR qualitative data investigating the lived experiences of people living w MM in #LMICs by exploring their perspectives, experiences, and aspirations
https://gh.bmj.com/content/9/1/e013606The interviews firstly showed strongly the importance of healthcare cost and forgone income as outcomes of #HealthCare, which are often not considered in the development of core outcome sets (see also https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.01.29.24301589v1)
