  1. The overview of our #NIHR #GlobalHealth Research Group results is now available:
    journalslibrary.nihr.ac.uk/ghr

"The research highlighted critical gaps in the detection, treatment and integration of care for mental and physical #multimorbidity in South Asia."

I may miss the NIHR library report style, but this was easier to put together, it is probably easier to read, and anyone interested in details can review the published papers by programme objective (Appendix 2).

  2. 🔥 The excitement is rising:

Today is the reveal event for the #RCT results from our DIAMONDS study.
    #NIHR #PGfAR

  3. It’s probably time I start posting some of the live illustration events I did last year!

Here’s one for Newcastle University I initially had no clue what it was about but particularly enjoyed designing the cover for: Interdisciplinary Impact Clusters (sounds delicious).

If you’re hosting an event online or in Leeds/West Yorkshire area and would like to have it captured via live illustration, get in touch :)

  4. "Be part of life-changing health and care research
Be Part of Research is a free service which makes it easy to find and take part in vital health and care research across the UK.

Simply choose which health conditions you're interested in. We'll match you to suitable research studies - then you decide if you'd like to take part."

  5. #NIHR PHIRST evaluation of a money and #MentalHealth service delivered by #CitizensAdvice suggests (i) increased financial support, and (ii) a single, dedicated adviser who builds a relationship with the client and advocates on their behalf as a key mechanism.

  6. A workshop of the MLTC Cross- #NIHR Collaboration programme suggests three challenge themes in #multimorbidity research #methodology:
    journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/

    Wired:
Transparency, standardisation, reproducibility of multimorbidity research made the list!

    Tired:
Bullet points in figure 1 have more detail on building methodological capacity than the text. Investing in methodologists (of any kind) is not part mentioned as far as I can see.

“Early career researchers are our leaders of tomorrow. We must invest in their success by providing career pathways for research in multiple long term conditions

A fantastic interview of Professor Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Department of Health & Social Care & CEO of .

  9. Very interesting first meeting of the committees governing the ATTEND research programme!

It is a research study investigating a new treatment for depression and low mood in adolescents via mindfulness-based interventions for adolescents & carers:

  10. UK researchers who follow #NIHR news will know about the new network of Research Support Services, announced here: nihr.ac.uk/news/nihr-announces.

I'm delighted to be a partner in the #ImperialCollegeLondon RSS.

They're advertising for an Operational Director -- a fantastic opportunity for a driven, creative, organised individual with experience of research management and NIHR infrastructure:

  11. I first read George Eliot's Middlemarch when I was 17. I'm now nearly 62 and what I take from the book changes every time I read it. As I age, I am always moved by the closing reflection on the influence one might have had through small 'unhistoric acts'. And I'm going to shoehorn it into my last study report for the UK National Institute for Health and Care Research. Come at me if you dare, Reviewer Two.

  12. UK #NIHR's Programme Development Grants are available for researchers to undertake preparatory work to develop a future programme of research. Broad ranging development work is permitted, with less detail required about the future programme of research.

Pre-programme topics can include now work on outcome selection, psychometrics and epidemiological work!

  14. @shaunlintern I led a piece of NIHR research with NHS case study fieldwork in the winter of 2016-17. Things were already so bad then that in our report we abandoned the term "winter pressures" in favour of "organisational distress", a term used by one of our participants.

  15. Thought I should actually stop lurking and send a toot. Here’s an #introduction: I’m a clinical specialist #SLT at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and in the last year of my #NIHR clinical doctoral research fellowship. My research focuses on above cuff vocalisation. Also interested in cough reflex testing and post-extubation dysphagia. Hoping this group will be a good way to network + keep updated about what is going on in the world of critcare! Thanks to those who set it up + are keeping it running.

  16. So it seems an #Introduction is in order...

    I am a research associate at #KingsCollegeLondon. Attempting to be both a #SocialCare and #HumanGeography #researcher.

I am currently leading a #NIHR funded #qualitative project looking at the role of professional #decluttering services for people with #HoardingBehaviours.

    Also interested in #storage (#PhD on #SelfStorage), #clutter, and #home.

    I love #gigs, #gardening, and #dogs. I live in #Cardiff and am trying to #DysguCymraeg (learn #Welsh).

  17. Nice to be at a meeting purely talking about public involvement in health data science research with space to ask qs. #NIHR #PublicInvolvement
