  1. Primay Clinic's direct primary care model is awesome. For just $89 a month it covers meds, labs, and visits, simplifying care with one transparent price. You get easier access to your provider, more time in appointments, faster scheduling, and care that focuses on prevention, making healthcare more predictable, personal, and convenient.#DirectPrimaryCare

  3. Delaware has some of the highest healthcare costs in the country, and Senate Bill 1 is exactly the kind of reform our state needs.

SB1 strengthens primary care while finally addressing one of the biggest drivers of high insurance premiums: hospital pricing that has been allowed to rise far above national benchmarks.

Contact your legislator today in support of SB1 (links in article.)

Reading these prompted me to pack out Porter/Teisberg's "Redefining #HealthCare" again.

It remains an interesting read, but it is very influenced by the time of writing and geography.

Any suggestions for sources with similar depth & breadth, but that
    - are more recent?
    - are more EU/UK focused?
    - have a stronger focus on primary #MentalHealth care?

  5. A comment discusses perspectives on the move from a "relationship-oriented and community-oriented approach to a market-oriented and profit-oriented enterprise" in #PrimaryCare:

It points to this interesting interview study describing (and for once explicating) 12 concrete market mechanisms enacting three market principles:

  6. Proud to have published my first paper - on informed consent in primary care e-consultation systems! tl;dr existing system designs consent patients poorly, but better user interface design might deliver better-informed consent #GP #PrimaryCare #research humanfactors.jmir.org/2026/1/e

  7. Learning primary care in a hospital is equivalent to learning forestry in a lumber yard.

  8. What predicted inappropriate antibiotic prescribing in Japan's #primaryCare clinics?

    - Acute bronchitis, common cold (acute upper respiratory), and rhinitis diagnoses
    - Older male clinicians
    - Telehealth and regular (vs. after) hours appointments

Việc sáp nhập các đơn vị hành chính cấp xã và tái cấu trúc các trạm y tế tạo cơ hội thiết kế mô hình y tế cơ sở mới, giải quyết những bất cập lâu năm và cải thiện tiếp cận chăm sóc sức khỏe cho cộng đồng. #yte #tuyenco #benhvien #bacsi #healthcare #Vietnam #primarycare #medicalreform

  10. More evidence of the cozy relationship between NatACT First MPs and corporate extractors looking to turn public services into profit sources;

I'm all for remote consultations as a first line of triage. So people don't have to pay for and travel to GP appointments we don't really need.

But a properly funded Healthline that didn't leave you on hold for half an hour could do that job. We don't need for-profit "telehealth" platforms.

  11. The Australian Health Minister has announced the government will "intervene in the market" to slow the rapid privatisation of GP clinics.
This is a significant move. Corporate ownership has been linked to higher patient costs and shorter appointment times. A crucial read for anyone concerned about the future of accessible healthcare.

  12. Any one else have to book #GP appointments using Rapid Health?

Wondering how people are finding it.

All questions are compulsory or you can't submit the form.

What you enter goes in your notes.

If it doesn't have a response that reflects the problem you have to put something else.

The triage can be very far from accurate.

You can only select from the GPs that it indicates (and not your own GP, even if you would wait to do so).

  13. #Doctors from abroad make up nearly ¼ of the #physician work force in the #US. They provide much of the staffing in rural & underserved areas of the country, & many fill positions in important areas of #medicine that are often shunned by US trained #physicians, like #PrimaryCare, #psychiatry & #pediatrics.
