Last night I had the 2011 #macbook pro running #MacOSXsnowleopard side by side next to the 2013 macbook pro running #Monterey. It was crazy seeing how much has changed but also how much stayed the same.

I like the #QOL improvements that #Apple has made to their OS (not including #MacOS26Tahoe) but I do miss the older #skeuomorphic and stylings of the earlier #OSX; it just had more character.

I am willing to forgive Mastodon for its glacial movement toward Quoted Toots, which I very much look forward to, because it has long given me a working Edit feature, something which some other, newer, social network things (not naming any Bluesky names, but totally Bluesky) still are failing to do in this, Chaos Year 2025, despite no shortage of evidence of the value of being able to fix your damn typos without deleting your post and starting from scratch.

Shout out to the Swift Selection Search extension for Firefox. It is, without a doubt, one of the best time-saving, QoL extensions I've encountered, right up there with uBlock Origin IMO.

When you select text on a webpage, a pop-up will automatically appear that has a fully-customizable list of search engines that allows you to search the selected term in one click.

Wanna look up a word in the dictionary? Select it and click the Wiktionary icon. Need to do a quick DuckDuckGo search? Select the term and click the icon. You're a fan of an obscure franchise and you use its wiki page a lot? You can add it to the extension's options page and enable yourself to search for your favorite characters in just a couple of clicks.

It's an awesome extension and I highly recommend it.

Ich nutze seit Mai 2016 einen #DIY #ClosedLoop, um damit meinen Typ-1-Diabetes #T1D einfacher zu handhaben. Seit Januar 2017 versuche ich - zumeist sehr erfolgreich - medizinisches Fachpersonal und andere Menschen mit #Diabetes für diese #DIYAPS zu begeistern.

Inzwischen gibt es endlich auch kommerzielle Systeme, die mE gerne noch reifen dürfen!
