Stümper:innen im Regierungsamt
Sie können es einfach nicht. Kaum hat der Bundeskanzler die beiden Minister:innen Klingbeil und Reiche aufgefordert, für die prekäre Situation auf dem fossilen Energiemarkt Lösungen zu finden, forderte Lars Klingbeil einen Preisdeckel nach luxemburgischen Vorbild, eine temporäre Senkung der CO2-Abgaben und eine Übergewinnsteuer. Anstatt sich zusammenzusetzen und in der Regierung intern nach sachlichen Lösungen zu suchen, plästerte die EON-Lobbyistin Reiche um 11.10 Uhr gestern mit rüden Worten gegen den Koalitionspartner, seine Vorschläge seien durchweg indiskutabel, teuer und ungeeignet. Habeck und Lindner lassen grüßen! Was geht in dieser Energielobbyistin vor?
Katherina Reiche sieht sich wie ihre Kollegen Weimer und Prien in einer Art Kulturkampf gegen jede fortschrittliche und sachlich begründete Politik. Sie haben eine rechtskonservative, ideologisch begründete Agenda, die das Land um jeden Preis nach rechts rücken will. Ob es um Demokratieprojekte und den Kampf gegen Antisemitismus geht, wie im Hause Prien, die jüdische und demokratische Initiativen von Geldern in Millionenhähe abschneiden will, darunter die seriöse Amadeu-Antonio-Stiftung, deren Aufsichtsratsvorsitzende die rennomierte ehemalige Verfassungsrichterin und Daimler-Vorständin Christine Hohmann-Dennhardt ist, und die seit Jahren in Brandenburg gegen Rechtsextremisten kämpft, Oder der “Kulturzensurminister” Weimer, der einfach mal drei angeblich “linke” Buchläden von der Liste förderwürdiger Projekte strich und dafür ein höchst zweifelhaftes und rechtlich wie verfassungspolitisch fragwürdiges “Haber”-Verfahren benutzte, das an die Gesinnungsschnüffelei der 70er Jahre erinnert.
Kretschmann lässt grüßen
Winfried Kretschmann hat im Wahlkampf in Baden-Württemberg interessante Einblicke darin gegeben, wie man erfolgreich regiert. So plauderte er auf einer Veranstaltung im Remstal locker aus dem Nähkästchen, warum er sich für Schwarz-Grün und nicht für eine Ampelregierung entschieden hat. Er bat in den Vorgesprächen FDP und SPD, in dem wichtigsten strittigen Thema Bildung einen gemeinsamen Vorschlag zu erarbeiten. Nach einer abgesprochenen, angemessenen Frist, so Kretschmann, kamen die beiden Parteien wieder zu ihm – ohne Einigung und ohne Kompromiss. “Da habe ich beschlossen, dass das nicht geht – wenn ich die bitte, sich zu einigen und sie kommen ohne Ergebnis wieder zurück – “so kannsch’ doch net mit denne arbeite” – und da wäre für ihn klar gewesen, mit wem er koaliert. Jedenfalls nicht mit Leuten, die Probleme nicht durch Kompromisse lösen, sondern sich weiter verzanken und dem Chef Ärger machen, statt ihn ihm zu ersparen.
Merz könnte von Kretschmann lernen
Das Ergebnis ist eindeutig. Merz sollte vielleicht mal ein Wochenende bei Winfried Kretschmann in die Schule gehen und von ihm lernen, wie man erfolgreich regiert. Katharina Reiche ist nicht nur angezählt, sie ist eigentlich reif, vom Platz gestellt zu werden. Der Vorsitzende der CDU-Sozialausschüsse, Dennis Radtke MdEP, hat das erkannt und am Sonnabend ihren Rücktritt gefordert. Das ganze Geschwafel von der “letzten Patrone der Demokratie” mit dieser Koalition ist Unsinn. Die SPD sollte sich mit Rücksicht auf ihre Jahrhundertelange Vergangenheit gut überlegen, über welche Stöckchen des neoliberalen Merz sie noch springen will, die der ihr hinhält. Im Sozialbereich ist noch eine Menge zu verlieren und der Verdummung entgegenzutreten, dass die AfD für die Unterschichten auch nur irgendetwas erreichen würde. Und Lars Klingbeil muss noch lernen, dass nicht die Bertrlesmann-Stiftung, sondern die Gewerkschaften die Basis der SPD sind. Da gibt es eine Menge zu tun. Und Fritze Merz sollte lernen, dass es in der Regierung nicht um Ideologie, sondern um Erfolg geht.

I swear, ever since I updated to the 9070XT, LotRO occasionally gets confused that it's running so fast on Ultra settings that it glitches out. I'll be running along and suddenly the terrain objects (bushes, stumps, grass clumps etc) will blink out and then a second later fade back in. I also get an inch wide band of "static" in the horizontal center of the screen that lasts for like a quarter of a second when I turn around. I spose I could try troubleshooting it, mess with the Wine settings or the games GFX settings but honestly it doesn't really bother me enough. Only happens once or twice a session (most of which are min 2 hours long).
I just imagine the game going "WAIT HOW AM I RUNNING AT 120FPS ON ULTRA SETTINGS!? *blink* OK I GUESS, STILL FEELS WRONG"
Kinda curious what it'll do when I get the 9800X3D installed soon, lol.

I was happy with the character work but stumped for the background. I tried using Midjourney to generate the city and then recolored and painted over it. I feel torn about using it: I'm cognizant of the bad things about AI but the city isn't the main focus here and Evelynn was 100% painted by me. Does that make it okay? I'm not sure and am fine if you want to heap scorn on me, or discuss where the line should be drawn.

@wpschill (muss es noch anhören) was ich mich schon öfters gefragt habe, und es spielt in #Smartmeter Light mit rein: eine moderne Prosumer-Installation braucht ja keine stumpfen "an/aus" Signale, sondern etwas komplexeres. Außerdem spielen sowohl der VNB als auch der Vertragspartner eine Rolle. Das alles über das #SmartmeterGateway zu channeln ist unnötig kompliziert. Wäre es nicht einfacher, die Steuerung übers Internet zu organisieren als via Smartmeter? Eine standardisierte "Strom-API" 1/x

@kuketzblog Nutze ich schon länger sehr gerne. Leider ist die #Nextcloud Music App eher rudimentär was die Sortierung angeht. Ich habe massive Probleme mit der adäquaten Darstellung von Interpreten, Alben usw.
#ID3_Tags sind überall mindestens vorhanden oder sogar sauber gepflegt und sollten entsprechend gelesen werden. Dennoch wird offenbar ganz stumpf die Ordnerstruktur herangezogen um die #Musikbibliothek zu erstellen und leider gibt es so gut wie keine Möglichkeit das manuell zu konfigurieren. Bin der Ursache des Problems noch nicht auf die Spur gekommen. UX ist daher eher mittelmäßig. -

Math Game Monday: The Number That Must Not Be Named
This challenging game stretches everyone’s working memory and offers children the delightful possibility of stumping an adult.
Many parents remember struggling to learn math. We hope to provide a better experience for our children. And one of the best ways for children to enjoy learning is through hands-on play.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s play some math!
The Number That Must Not Be Named
Math Concepts: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, integers, fractions, factoring, powers and roots, prime numbers, and other number properties.
Players: two or more (a cooperative game).
Equipment: none.
Set-Up
Because all calculations are done mentally, players must agree on what types of numbers are allowed. For example, beginners may want to start with the positive whole numbers 1–100. As players gain experience, you can expand the range of possibilities.
How to Play
The first player names any number within the permissible range. Players take turns naming mathematical operations, performing each calculation mentally but never saying their answer aloud.
For example, suppose the first player names “15.” Turns may then proceed as follows, with the number changing as shown in parentheses:
- “Times two.” (30)
- “Divided by five.” (6)
- “Squared.” (36)
- “Subtract it from one hundred.” (64)
- “Square root.” (8)
- “Cube root.” (2)
- “To the fifth power.” (32)
- “Plus one.” (33)
- “Nearest prime number.” (31)
- etc.
Players try to show style by naming operations that haven’t been used, especially something particular to the current number. Since the last calculation left the number at thirty-one, you might say “plus sixty-nine.” This proves you’ve been paying attention and gives everyone’s brain a brief rest on the nice, round number 100.
If a player names a calculation that makes no sense or that takes the number outside the agreed-upon range, that player is out of the game.
At any time, one player may challenge another to name the current number. If the challenged player says the wrong number, that player drops out of the game. But if the answer is correct, then the challenger is out.
The game continues until only one player remains, or until the players decide to stop.
History
When I was a kid, our teachers used to make students keep up with a long chain of mental calculations. This game offers students a chance to fight back and see if they can stump the teacher.

I would have loved to see some kind of merge of #lem, #mcclim and #nyxt. At least a version of Lem running in Nyxt, making the power of both available to build upon. I have #lisp pretty much top to bottom now (including #guix and #stumpwm), but it's still pretty disconnected. I can control things from emacs though, so that's the middle ground, but I would have loved #CommonLisp there too.
