  1. I was on the north side of town yesterday and decided to stop at HomeGoods as I’ve been away for a while for various reasons.

    While checking out a clearance aisle, I noticed there were several bundles of used books there, each bundle with covers in a particular color (blue, taupe, light taupe, etc.). I guess it’s now a thing to buy books to match or compliment your decor rather than, you know, read them.
    Anyway, there were also some unbundled random vintage books there, and one caught my eye.

    Damn right it came home with me. A fine treasure with fantastic art, and of course, James Beard recipes if you’re into that sort of thing.
