Exciting news! Dana-i insulin pumps are now possible to get in #Poland!
They're among the best supported by #AndroidAPS. They're still Fucking Expensive (~16k PLN, about two average monthly salaries before taxes, you pay full price), but they're here! -
I'm using the "opportunity" of a failed pump to remind myself what life on injections is like (for one, it's *much* easier logistically when e.g. travelling, camping). And the thing that's currently weirdest for me is not having to dance around the connected pump when dressing or undressing.

Are Medtronic CGM sensors programmed to die unpredictably early and always when I should be sleeping or am sleeping, and can't put in another till the next day? Usually the evening cause I gotta like work during the day. It's so much fun being forced back to blood tests on a device that is renown for being prone to hypoglycaemic events.

Just had my scheduled meeting with a specialist Diabetes Dietician. Whilst trying to clarify some of the finer points about my understanding of glucose metabolism I mentioned that you don't need insulin for skeletal muscles to use glucose, and she stopped me and said I was definitely wrong and without insulin the muscles would be "screaming out for glucose"... and I wasn't going to argue with her in the room but now neither am I going to trust anything else she has to say. #diabetes #t1diabetes

Ah, yes, when in one position in bed you snore, so you get poked for that, but in all the others you put pressure on your #CGM sensor, so you get woken up every half an hour by an alert about hypoglycemia.

Just had a weird stress dream where my Libra Link software unexpectedly updated itself, connected with Facebook, and I started seeing the lines of other members of a Facebook diabetes support group when I went to check my blood sugar, like they had gamified it into some kind of weird competition.

OK Mastodon, anyone successfully using a deGooglefied phone with a #CGM app? i wear a #DexcomG6 using and a #TandemDiabetes #tSlim2 using the #tConnect app, all on #iOS. i’m maybe 2 years out on a new phone, and would very much like to get away from Apple and Google, but i’m worried these apps might not work on #GrapheneOS or #eOS. they exist for #Android, but seem pretty persnickety about versions. boosts welcome, especially if you know any #T1D / #T1diabetes nerds. ✌️

So, this is potentially huge for diabetics in the UK.
Only looks to be targeting about 25% of people so far, but when they all (hopefully) become much better controlled and healthier, we can get it rolled out to even more people!
I have hopes for me personally, of course, maybe smooth out the mountain range my sugar levels normally are.

Turns out if your insulin pump expires overnight and you don't get up to put on a new one, you get a very clear reminder how how much you rely upon an artificial pancreas!
