Took other chains less than six months, to open much later, so let's see how long this lasts.

Ein Termin in einer Ecke von #Leipzig, in die es mich sonst eher selten verschlägt, führte zu einer erfreulichen Entdeckung: dem #FIXcoffee, einem #SpecialtyCoffee Shop mit hervorragendem #FlatWhite (die Bohnen waren von der Dortmunder Rösterei #NeuesSchwarz) und einem südirischen #Barista, der sein Handwerk offenkundig versteht. Einzig beim Minimalismus der Innengestaltung wurde aus meiner Sicht etwas über das Ziel hinausgeschossen. ☕️

Who would have thought. I'm kinda like John, but where he judges cafes on their flat whites, I judge cafes on how they do americanos.
I especially love that he's doing this video for Bon Apetit magazine, a Conde Nast publication, and he kinda blasts the Conde Nast cafe for phoquing up the flat white.

Invested in a pair of double-walled hand-blown latte glasses to continue my "coffee in a glass" experimentation. ☕😋 The mouth of the glass is wider than my others, plus there's the insulating effect of the air gap. #FlatWhite #Coffee

With a touch of nostalgic regret, I decided to trade-in my current camera gear against a Sony #A7Cii. I'm down to just one prime lens now (not a bad discipline in itself) and the full combo weighs less than my Sigma 24-70 ART lens, one of the items I traded. It was an awesome setup, but I'd used it twice in the last year! Like my ZVE10 (also now traded!) this one can happily live on my rucksack strap. This morning's #FlatWhite and I felt as though I'd kept the milk wand slightly too deep and the texture was off. Which it was, a bit. But the taste and feel of the coffee is actually rather good... I might be getting slightly too much air into the milk on most days. ☕🤔 #Coffee #LatteArt

Haven't done an #espresso posting in a while.
Or #FlatWhite, in this case.Espresso: Apas from "Die Kaffeemacher:innen"
Dose: 18g
Yield: 44gTopped with ~125ml of textured milk.
The milk was maybe a touch too thick, but still decent I think. Creamy and glossy.
My last tries were a bit on the liquidy side, so I guess, somewhere in the middle would be great.
I'm still learning and improving... but I am still struggling a bit with the pour. -
Gestern Abend schon wieder den Fehler gemacht, die Müdigkeit um 9 nicht gleich mitzunehmen...
Dann war einschlafen natürlich etwas schwieriger. Aber nach nem #FlatWhite sieht die Welt ja schon wiederum ganz anders aus 😄 #ErstmalKaffeeIch schreib heute noch ne Englischklausur, ansonsten relativ unspektakulär.

My first try with the new Alpro Not M*lk Barista.
I really love experimenting with milk alternatives and that one really isn't too shabby.
Oat-based, not as creamy as normal milk, but decent.
In addition with the (plant) milk I am also testing a new steam tip, so... it's not the best testing ground.It steamed nicely, texture is good, buuut not as micro foam-y as I can get with a cow's milk just yet.
But I think that's on me just as much as on the product. Milk alternatives still struggle a bit with the micro foam texture and it's a bit harder to get them right.Coffee: Espresso Intenso (Cafesito)

Topped with ~130ml of steamed "Not M*lk Barista"

☕ Endlich wieder bei meinem lokalen #Kaffeebohnen-Dealer #EastCoffee gewesen und meine Lieblingssorte für den Kaffeevollautomaten geholt: #Cabezudo … und dann war da noch dieses tolle #Lakritz-Angebot, dem ich nicht widerstehen konnte. Und weil es teilweise ordentich geregnet hat, musste ich noch einen #FlatWhite und einen Leckerbissen dazu gönnen.
