Recunoscut istoric pentru silueta sa subțire și greutatea redusă, noul model aduce un salt tehnologic impresionant pe partea de eficiență energetică, conectivitate și putere de calcul.

Iată principalele caracteristici tehnice și noutăți introduse de Lemur Pro 2026:

🔹 Autonomie fenomenală a bateriei:
Cea mai mare realizare a noului model este optimizarea drastică a consumului de energie. Datorită eficienței noilor arhitecturi de procesoare și reglajelor fine aduse de inginerii System76 la nivel de firmware open-source, Lemur Pro promite o autonomie remarcabilă de până la 18 ore de utilizare la o singură încărcare. Acest lucru îl transformă într-o stație de lucru ideală pentru programatori, sysadmini și profesioniști aflați mereu în mișcare.

🔹 Performanță de top cu Intel Core Ultra:
La interior, laptopul este propulsat de cele mai noi procesoare Intel Core Ultra (din generațiile recente axate pe eficiență și capabilități AI). Aceste cipuri integrează grafică avansată Intel Arc și o unitate NPU (Neural Processing Unit) dedicată accelerării sarcinilor de inteligență artificială direct pe dispozitiv, totul rulând nativ și fără bătăi de cap sub Linux.

Lemur Pro devine unul dintre primele laptopuri din gama System76 care adoptă standardul de conectivitate Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be). System76 Open Firmware (bazat pe coreboot): Oferă timpi de boot ultra-rapizi și elimină codul proprietar proprietar inutil din BIOS.

System76 Embedded Controller (EC) Firmware: Oferă utilizatorului control total, la nivel de cod, asupra comportamentului ventilatoarelor, bateriei și tastaturii iluminate.

Is it just me, or is Hyprland’s "auto" scaling a bit much?
On my 16" (2560x1600) laptop, Fedora defaults to 1.25, but Hyprland jumps straight to 1.60. It makes my screen feel like a giant tablet.

New (well, refurbished) laptop time!
Got a bargain HP Elitebook 830 with Linux Mint preinstalled - It has the look & feel of a brand new machine.
Yes, I know I could have installed Linux myself and saved a few quid, but sometimes you want to take the easy option - and so far everything, yes, everything is working out of the box as it should.
The intention is to eventually use it to replace my ageing Chromebook whose battery is starting to suffer.
My other Linux machine (with the iffy barrel power connector can go onto the ham radio desk.

Remember, most people don't install Windows or macOS on their computers. In fact, they have no concept of an operating system - it's just a computer. They are only concerned with using the apps!
