"Both GNU IceCat and ungoogled-chromium are now available in Ecne, joining our continuously maintained Abrowser, giving users a range of fully free web browsing choices."

  5. zap zap 👨‍🚀 Boston, this is Freedo, reporting from EVA. The flight path is clear! Freelix the GNU cat and I have fired the deblobbing ray at max power, clearing out a dense field of proprietary debris. GNU Linux-libre 7.0-gnu is officially released and 100% free for deployment! fsfla.org/pipermail/linux-libr Be Free! Over and out. 🚀 #LinuxLibre #GNU #FreeSoftware #Linux #SoftwareFreedom

  6. Something else probably no-one other than me will never need to know: the #DebianLibre live DVD/USB system, while it runs a kernel without proprietary blobs within the live environment itself, installs a kernel *with* proprietary blobs to the hard drive when you run the installer. If you want a #LinuxLibre kernel on the eventual installed system, you have to do some manual fiddling with the apt configuration.

  8. What’s the state of the art for linux-libre compatible wifi in 2025? did a quick web research on this but haven’t found much besides the usual ath9k_htc hardware that’s completely libre.

  9. @janriemer well... conversation has derived to "I say only Linux! Blah blah blah"
I guess there are holy places everywhere Xd
I'm one of those saying GNU/Linux , I think it's more descriptive of a system.
    If I hear only #Linux I think about #android or even #postmarketos ...
    If I hear #GNU/Linux I think about #debian etc.
But ecosystem is rich enough! I love more to hear about #gnu / #linuxlibre or #gnuhurd...
But hey! I dont care how you say it!
Holy places and criticism everywhere, true.

  10. Every donation to @fsf helps me, Freedo, keep swimming strong in a sea of free software. Support the folks who support freedom: fsf.org/ #FreeSoftware #SoftwareFreedom #GNU #Linux #LinuxLibre

  11. GNU Linux-Libre 6.18 rilasciato: kernel libero da blob proprietari, aggiornamenti driver e pacchetti per tutte le distribuzioni. #LinuxLibre #Kernel #Linux

  12. Freedo here - GNU Linux-libre 6.18-gnu has landed! Grab sources & binaries: fsfla.org/selibre/linux-libre/ And new deep-sea artwork of me scrubbing blobs - Be Free! #LinuxLibre #GNU #Linux #FreeSoftware #SoftwareFreedom

  13. New Linux-libre versions are out: 6.17.7-gnu, 6.12.57-gnu, and 6.6.116-gnu! The @fsf has covered almost all our expenses since the very beginning - and that’s truly something to quack about! If you love software freedom, please consider donating to the FSF: fsf.org/ #FreeSoftware #SoftwareFreedom #GNU #Linux #LinuxLibre

  14. - The last 3 days have been 100% dedicated to finding Olive who pushed out a window screen Saturday night/Sunday morning. She's back home safe now!!!

I don't have an excuse for last week tho.

    - Investigated a bug with kmod v31 and v6.3.3 not playing nice on . No conclusion yet.

  15. I guess I do sorta hope it's mwlwifi being buggy, because then it'd be another reason to finally get around to swapping the wifi card in it for a compatible one so I cans switch from OpenWrt to back to .

  16. @nicemicro en: another one I heard, targeted against activists and distributions that follow the #GNU #FSDG is "this is oppression since you are blocking the installation of non-free software", which is false because they just don't… a) teach; b) install to others; c) recommend; d) foster; e) make it convenient. But, you can still install stuff manually. Blocking is actually a bug, like the one #LinuxLibre has, which is caused by how #Linux is made.

  20. Fui banido do debxp.org , e do seu canal de XMPP, por exprimir a minha opinião negativa acerca de Telegram. Lá não há liberdade de expressão. Um reino de ditadura.

I was banned from debxp.org , and from it's XMPP channel, for expressing my negative opinion about Telegram. There, is no freedom of expression. A dictatorship model rules there.

  21. @tbss @PINE64 uses the same WiFi chipset as so no, it won't fully work with . Not sure about WiFi on but you'll need blobs to boot it anyway as only has proprietary ATF (at least for now).
