Turning an $80 Android tablet into a Debian Linux PC
Smartphones and tablets are basically little computers with touchscreen displays. But since most ship with mobile operating systems like Android or iPadOS, they’re often tightly tied to Google or Apple for support, services, and app stores, among other things.
So developer tech4bot decided to set a cheap Android tablet free by turning porting Linux to run on it. The Doogee U10 is a budget […]

🎩🤡 So, you took an $80 tablet and wasted hours turning it into a "Debian workstation"? Sure, because who doesn't want a pocket-sized toaster that runs Linux at the speed of molasses? 🚀🙄 Your "tech breakthrough" is truly a groundbreaking way to rekindle the Stone Age. 🪨💻

Chat, thoughts on this? https://www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/braxtechnologies/open_slate
Looks decent for tablet specs, but no clue at how the Linux ARM experience would be, nor if the person backing it is cringe

@rye maybe the Starlite.
https://au.starlabs.systems/pages/starlite?shpxid=8cf3d2a5-9f00-4cff-8b5c-2ffd301064c5
This article reviewed a range of Linux tablets and as above the Starlite seemed the highest spec.

Went and got myself a new tablet in the form of a Latitude 7275. The screen is the first thing that stood out, it's bright and the viewing angle is fabulous. I might write a longer review later, once I've become more antiquated with it. Otherwise I'm quiet pleased with it on this note.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with it, but I would be very interested in any experiences with the #Fydetab Duo too.
