@thelinuxEXP Apparently, Tuxedo OS isn’t just for Tuxedo hardware - @tuxedocomputers themselves say it can be installed on other PCs too (but w/o support).

So hmmmmm, now I’m seriously considering moving my Dell Latitude from Linux Mint to the new #Debian-based Tuxedo OS.

Anyone running #TuxedoOS on different hardware? Experiences, pitfalls, reasons to stay with Mint?

Okay so the 2002 #Dell #Inspiron2650 keyboard that I put through the dishwasher about a week ago is still broken in exactly the same way as it was before. Some keys on the outer edges work; most don't.

Looking at the construction of it (photos to follow) I'm not inclined to attempt to open it up to fix it.

So before it goes into the electronics recycling, would anybody like to have it just for the keycaps? All of them appear to be working correctly mechanically.

It was really fascinating to see claude dig into the obfuscated java code and get all the necessary protocol bits out. Could never have done that on my own.

Nie kupujcie monitora Dell UltraSharp 27 4K U2725QE, gdyby ktoś rozważał. Kupiłem dobry rok temu i miałem trzy wymiany. Pierwszy z czasem zaczął głośno piszczeć a kolejne miały problem z wyświetlaniem obrazu, głównie podświetlanie wyłączało się losowo w różnych miejscach. Nie wiem jak Dell ogólnie radzi sobie z monitorami, bo to mój pierwszy od Della, ale ten konkretny model na moje oko ma poważne problemy, więc odradzam.

Na plus za to wsparcie Della, choć na WhatsAppie siedziały jakieś zwierzęta i nie dało się dogadać, dzwonienie na polski numer telefonu to zdecydowanie lepszy pomysł. Na te chwile monitor został wysłany do sprzedawcy i liczę na zwrot pieniędzy. Dzisiaj dojechał do mnie inny monitor, ASUS ProArt Display PA27JCV, mam nadzieję, że to już koniec przygód.

Откройте серверную любой компании, которая работала с иностранными вендорами до 2022 года, и найдете коммутатор Cisco, СХД от Dell или сервер HPE. Все это до сих пор в работе: коммутатор передает трафик, СХД хранит данные, сервер обслуживает запросы. Только патчей для такого оборудования больше нет, гарантия не действует, а нужная плата для ремонта едет через третьи страны и обходится кратно дороже прайса. С 27 мая 2026 года эта плата вообще не может попасть в Россию легально: Минпромторг исключил из параллельного импорта серверы, рабочие станции и накопители Cisco, HPE, IBM, Intel, Samsung и десятков других брендов. Для значимых объектов КИИ — тех, которым по итогам категорирования присвоили одну из трех категорий значимости, — действует отдельный срок: переход на доверенные программно-аппаратные комплексы к 1 января 2028 года, который Минцифры готово сдвигать до 2036 года при заключении отдельного проекта с правительством, но не отменяет совсем.
