Лейтнер, Elo и поправка на угадывание: движок тренажёра собесов без единого вызова LLM

Готовиться к собесу по списку «2000 вопросов с ответами» невозможно. Я пробовал: открываешь, листаешь минут сорок, отвечаешь на те, что и так знаешь, закрываешь с чувством выполненного долга. Через неделю в голове ноль. Список не помнит, где ты плаваешь, и не знает, когда ты забудешь то, что вчера повторил. Лечится это не списком подлиннее, а движком практики: системой, которая помнит каждую встречу человека с каждым вопросом и решает, что показать следующим. Такой движок я собрал для своего тренажёра собесов, и статья целиком про него: корзины Лейтнера для памяти, Elo с поправкой на угадывание для сложности, карта слабых мест, политика сборки сессии. Всё с кодом, графиками и граблями с прода, плюс два отступления: чем в этой задаче неудобен LLM и откуда берётся банк вопросов. Сам я ведущий дата-сайентист, кандидатов собеседую регулярно, так что на проблему смотрю с обеих сторон стола.

@guyjantic If you have not only one, but multiple questions, several item response models extend this logic by assuming a latent continuous variable:
they evaluate whether the responses to the questions can be reconstructed as ordered responses - and ordered in this case meaning 'with reference to this latent variable' (e.g., does being more in favour of rights for pregnant people consistently align with choosing higher categories in the individual question responses).

Thinking about scale reliability lately.

An obvious thing to remember is that scale reliability (omega) is the upper bound of correlations it can meaningfully (!) have with anything else.

This is highly practical, because, in theory (I haven’t fleshed this out yet), this enables us to test construct validity pretty well by attenuating correlations with reliability. This has been done before, albeit (imho) slightly clumsily by Kristof (1983). They used a Spearman Brown approach based on an ideal correlation to establish thresholds a correlation must test against to conclude discriminant or convergent validity. The formula was threshold = rho_ideal * sqrt(rel_a * rel_b). This is less than ideal, because what an ideal correlation is is up to the researcher.

However, keeping the above fact in mind, we can do better. Kill thresholds and just make it a measure of relatedness altogether that is capped by the lower reliability.

Let’s call this Kappa = rho_real/sqrt(rel_a*rel_b).

This should (again, I haven’t tested this yet) give you two types of information right away:
1)If its >1, then your scale is off.
2)If it’s less than 1 it informs about construct validity. If it’s less than 0.5, probably discriminant, if it’s higher probably convergent. The extreme the score, the higher the confidence.

On 6 September 2023, there was signing ceremony for #MoU between #Iskandar Regional Development Authority (#IRDA) & Korea Railroad Research Institute (#KRRI).

The MoU is to carry out Proof of Concept (#POC) for Traffic Signal Prioritization System (#TSPS) related to the Iskandar Rapid Transit (#IRT) project.

@pgmj Interesting. I struggle to find any #CTT in there, but that probably depends on where one chooses to put categorical data factor models; and whether CTT approaches are considered to be latent variable models or not.

I would agree that it does not cover #IRT models in general, or #RaschModels in particular.
