Success!
The old WinXP laptop was able to pull the driver off of the disk!
Now to get them installed & working.
The files look a bit strange & I can't make out exactly which .cab file that I need so I just went ahead & sent everything over to the #PocketPC using the magic of wireless #IrDA.
Once I can verify that the files are good & working, I will put them up on #Archive.
I don't believe the 1.4 #WindowsCE drivers exist anywhere online.

India's insurance regulator IRDA has proposed capping agent commissions at 20 percent for endowment and pension policies, a move affecting the 1 trillion rupee (11.7B USD) insurance distribution market. The draft proposal aims to curb mis-selling and reduce costs for policyholders. Currently, agents can earn commissions of up to 35 percent on certain policies, and the industry has raised concerns about the impact on agent incentives and distribution. https://indiadispatch.com/news/irda-proposes-20-percent-commission-cap-for-insurance-agents-10431120 #India #Tech #Insurance #IRDA

@PurpleJillybeans This printer was fantastic. I believe I had the 5p. It ran great for years and then I foolishly gave it away in the mid-2000s.
Recently, I looked at buying another one because of the built-in #IrDA until I saw the eBay prices. Yikes!
Hopefully I can find one locally for a more reasonable price someday.

I only see two HP Deskjets with #IrDA sensors.
450ci
995cAs far as I'm concerned, that's a wrap for HP unless someone else can add to the list.
Oddly, I can't find a single Epson printer with an IrDA sensor. Did they not make a single one?
Moving on to Canon.

So far I have been looking at monochrome HP #LaserJet printers. I feel I have a fairly comprehensive list here.
Each of these are confirmed, by either looking at original manuals or pictures, to have an #IrDA sensor.
The dates, taken from various sources, are probably not exact and are used by me as reference only.

I'm trying my best to compile a list of printers (Inkjet, LaserJet or thermal) that have a physical built-in IrDA sensor.
I am NOT including ones that just have a port and require an adapter.
If you know of any please feel free to list them below

#IrDA is up and running on #Windows 10. I can now wirelessly transfer files between my Laptop and #PocketPC!It’s much more convenient than having to juggle multiple proprietary cables.
It’s one cable to rule them all. One cable to transfer files across every IrDA enable device and I love it!
This is amazing and I believe I have achieved what I set out to do; Restore the FULL functionality of Pocket Pcs on modern hardware!

I then went to Gearmo’s webpage and downloaded their MCS7780 driver at https://www.gearmo.com/shop/fast-usb2-infrared-adapter/I plugged in the Gearmo #IrDA dongle and opened Device Manager. I found it listed under “Other Devices.” I right clicked on it and selected “Properties.” I navigated to the “Driver” tab and clicked “Update Drivers.”
I then selected the driver I had just downloaded and a moment later the device was up and running!
Success!!!

Finding a compatible #IrDA dongle at a reasonable price is quite a challenge and most of them no longer have current working drivers.Fortunately SCUBA divers use IrDA for a lot of their old devices and on the Scubaboard forum I learned at the heart of some IrDA dongles was a Moschip or Asix chip MCS7780 and there is a working driver for these.
I searched for a list of dongles that used this chip and found an old one by Gearmo for only 40 bucks on Ebay.

We have two objectives to get this going:
- Install the #IrDA stack.
- Find a compatible dongle with working drivers.Let’s begin by installing the stack. It’s the easiest part and only takes a few minutes.
In #Windows 10 open Settings and select System > Optional Features > Add a Feature. Now scroll down the list and select “IrDA Infrared” to install it.
After a few minutes it should be installed! Awesome! We are half way there!

There is a lot of old and outdated information concerning #IrDA on Windows 10. It also does not help that the information is spread across all parts of the web.For someone like me who had no experience with IrDA it was a massive amount of scattered information the sift through.
I want to thank everyone that helped me out and offered advice.
Hopefully having all of this info consolidated here will help others and ease efforts to keep these devices fully functional.

At the beginning of this year I set out with a goal to restore FULL #PocketPC compatibility on a current #Windows 10 #PC.We outlined how to both establish a connection AND Sync here… https://mas.to/@Judeau/112678025590638375
We looked at different keyboards and how to transfer Word files while preserving formatting here… https://mas.to/@Judeau/112689361744308651
The last piece of the puzzle was restoring wireless #IrDA connectivity.
Spoiler alert: I got it!

@nazokiyoubinbou I am currently transferring files between my #PocketPC and an old laptop running #Windows XP that has #IrDA built in.
I can get everything else with my Pocket PC working on a modern Win 10 setup.
So I really want to get IrDA working on it as well. It's the last piece of the puzzle.
I'm trying to get full Pocket PC functionality on a modern PC.
I do not yet have a USB IrDA dongle. That's kind of what I am trying to figure out. One that will work with Windows 10 or 11.

Lately I have been playing around with #IrDA due to my current #PocketPC #Palm and #PDA obsession.
It's so cool doing wireless file transfers between devices. It's like pre-Bluetooth.
Is there ANY way to get IrDA working on a current #Windows 10 or 11 PC with a USB IrDA dongel?
I have heard conflicting info on this. I want to say the answer is no but then projects like Irdroid muddy the waters for me.

@georgetakei In fact, I want #Payphones to return, but better...
Like add some #privacy, make the #PhoneBooth sound & #RF insulated and have a #Terminal just with #WebCall and #JitsiMeet on and maybe some #IrDA, #Bluetooth and #WiFi as option to transfer files...

#Johor has identified three #LightRailTransit (#LRT) lines that stretches for 30km in and around #JohorBaru.
A development study had been previously conducted by the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (#IRDA) and Johor Public Transport Corporation (#PAJ).
The study proposed that the LRT should be developed to complement the #RTSLink which is slated to be completed by early 2027.
The system will also complement the #EDTP and the #BRT.

On 6 September 2023, there was signing ceremony for #MoU between #Iskandar Regional Development Authority (#IRDA) & Korea Railroad Research Institute (#KRRI).
The MoU is to carry out Proof of Concept (#POC) for Traffic Signal Prioritization System (#TSPS) related to the Iskandar Rapid Transit (#IRT) project.
The POC will help IRT in terms of efficient operation & smooth traffic along the #Tebrau IRT Main Trunk at Jalan Tebrau when it is implemented soon.
