LBS mit integrierter RFID-Verbuchung heute im Spätdienst mit unserem Pilotsystem für 2.16 ausprobiert. Das war jetzt bei schon vorhandener Antenne überraschend simple anzubinden und funktioniert dem ersten Eindruck nach sehr geschmeidig. So hätte das vor 10 Jahren sein müssen.

Fra le applicazioni per organizzarsi un po' di lavoretti a casa può tornare comodo #Vikunja, ma se pianifichi a lungo termine un po' di cose rischi di perderti. Non c'è problema perché abbiamo sviluppato aGGenda, una webapp semplicissima che mostra le attività di Vikunja organizzate per settimana con alcuni filtri:

Patched Koha so patrons can add a text note when creating an ILL https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=40105 an obvious need for us, to support asks like "any format will do", "I need this specific edition", etc. Patrons could add notes _after an ILL was requested_ (though it's not very intuitive how) but due to the way the backend worked you couldn't hack a notes field onto the creation form. Very happy to add this feature and another example of how do it yourself OSS wins. #koha #ils #opensource

Questo in parte può essere un vantaggio: uffici e pubbliche amministrazioni, grandi e piccole, centrali e periferiche, dismetteranno interi parchi di macchine ancora funzionanti. Associazioni come #ILS o #AsSoLi potrebbero provare ad intercettarne una parte. Lo Stato risparmierebbe i costi di smaltimento e quei PC, con #Linux, potrebbero essere donati a scuole, associazioni, famiglie.

Kohacon 2025 will be held in New Zealand from 17 to 23 November.
New Zealand is the birthplace of Koha, which was created 25 years ago. The first version went into production at HLT on 1 January 2000, and since then, the baby has grown up, with Koha now being the most widely used ILS in the world!

I've fallen down the #library #ILS rabbit hole again... it turns out the ILS system my local library used was probably an early version of BLCMP's TALIS (The Automated Library Information System).
The UI was apparently built with Vermont Views and ran on Sun UNIX systems, with Sybase as the backend [1].

Now I want to recreate that UI (or the textmode Dynix one) to use with Koha or Evergreen...

I'd love to find install media for TALIS, that'd be neat.
