Cairo now has a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. I tried it this past week a couple of times and I was impressed by some of its features but I am not sure I am going to take it again.
The good:
- It is inexpensive, a 10 stations ticket costs 10 EGP (0.19 USDs).
- The buses are air conditioned and comfortable. They are electric too which means less noise and hopefully last longer than diesel.
- It has a dedicated lane which means it shoule be faster during rush hour.
