If you would like to test the upcoming version of GitNex, RC 1 is out. It will be available on F-Droid soon. The APK is available on the release page.
*The Play Store will only get the stable release later.
This is still a work in progress (WIP) until all the UI changes and refactors are done. Another RC may hit the release page if needed.

Good News. I'm in.As is well known, Google wants to ban the (EDITED: APK sideloading) of “third-party” apps on Android. Since Android does not belong to Google, this is yet another imperial asshole move, but it strengthens truly free Androids such as Graphene OS. I have been using Graphene OS for a long time and it is just what a smartphone should be, namely my own.
It's now very easy to install Graphene OS on a standard Pixel phone, but that puts most people off. Maybe it will soon be available as a normal phone from Motorola. I used to have problems with it because the pictures it sent via #MMS were of far poorer quality than the other programs I tried (including the #AOSP default Messaging app), but they seem to have fixed that.
They also have added a nice big button to trigger your phone's native dictation service (you can turn that off if you don't want it, or don't have one).
It has successfully replaced the proprietary SMS program I was using before, which makes me quite glad.

Week 1 with #GrapheneOS
The OS is just fantastic, I like it a lot! But the #Pixel9 is too big for my arthritic hands, so I switched from the 9 to a #reforbeshed #Pixel8 yesterday.
On paper, the 9 is actually thinner. But in my arthritic hand, I prefer the rounded edges of the 8.. I can hold it better.
I gave the 9 to my happy brother.
