  1. …uh, yes.

Yes, I did… order another Apple Extended Keyboard II for the kids to hack away on the two Macintosh SE/SE30 machines. ♥️🍎💾

  2. Ok, est ce que je viens d'être bluffé par la saisie vocal de #Outspoke ?

Modèle hors ligne, application open-source, support du français et autres langues européennes, intégration avec le clavier, nettoyage des "hum, heu..."

    Je continu ?

  3. I love my #Keychron K6 retro style mechanical #keyboard and my #Kensington Expert Mouse (which is a #trackball). In fact I love it so much I've got two of each and have a set for the home office and a set when I'm at clients.

Given these shorter contracts lately, I'm looking for something a little less bulky to drag around, so I'm testing out the #logitech MX Keys Mini chiclet keyboard and the Kensington #Orbit wireless trackball.

    Opinions later! 😀

  4. Take a walk on the dark side 🌉

We can still enjoy the play
    Take a step, don’t miss a beat
Turn the corner, a new life is waiting for the night //

  5. To me it's always baffling when I see people out in the wild not typewriting (10 fingers) properly.
Only using 2-4 fingers for typing, staring at the keyboard.

You're slow, your posture is really bad and it prevents you from clearly communicating as longer sentences/phrases are painful.

Developers that don't touch type tend to not document/document less etc.

Sure, AI tooling will generate code for you, but you still need to type the prompt yourself. 😅

  8. I'm trying out a new (to me) Android keyboard.

My main demands are 100% fast accurate swiping (glide typing) and voice input, plus, I want something privacy oriented this time.

FUTO is great. Everything happens on board, including the voice typing, which is rare. Most pull Google for it.

Previously to get swiping that I could tolerate, it required using Gboard or Yandex. Neither one of those has a good privacy reputation.

So far FUTO is a keeper. 👍

  9. Anyone know anything about this thing? Bought it cheap off Marketplace, but can't get it to work.

    ![media-1]

Its just a generic Chinese product, but I can't find any good info on using it, it does appear to work with Linux, Mac and Windows, which would make sense if'n things like macros or switching which half of the keyboard it is on board rather than requiring a special driver.
Maybe its broken, or maybe its just a cheap crap version… Maybe both? I mean the DG in the model number stands for the retailer what sold it.

  10. so i have been using my #unicomp model m after using my #hhkb for ages with my laptop and in many ways its a nicer experience. sometimes i miss the dedicated arrow keys. however. my model m is iso uk layout, the same as my laptop. but i have gotten really used to the hhkb american layout.
things like the escape key being closer, the backspace being above the enter, control on caps lock (by default, i use software to rebind it on my built in laptop keyboard and my unicomp).

  17. I got the parts for a new split keyboard. This time its the 42-key beekeeb Toucan Wireless.

I chose this mainly because of the slim design, the integrated magsafe rings on the back, and the right side touchpad.

Its the first keyboard with such a tight switch placement, all my others use the standard MX spacing, which is much wider.

So far I'm pretty satisfied. Assembly went well. The Bluetooth+Linux interaction works good as well. So now I'm working on my WPM again 😅.

  31. My new keeb arrived yesterday. I've had to fiddle around with the key layout a bit (it wanted backspace to be on the right hand under M key) and a few others, but I'll get it working.

Vial.rocks doesn't seem to want to work, but the app does. Its less intuitive than ZSA's Oryx, but I'm sure I'll work it out. Need to get used to no tenting though 😬

    'Scuse the mess
