  6. Upgraded to #gnome 45 on my #arch linux #tablet an half of the #extensions stopped working... I haven't used Gnome in years (since they moved to #gtk 3), so I'm wondering if I should expect all the extensions to break at every upgrade 🤨️
I can live without #gsconnect for a while, but the default #osk ( #onScreenKeyboard ) is unuseable without "Improved OSK" extension... that should be included by default...

  11. On the topic of #OnScreenKeyboard's...

    a) is there a geniune open-source version out there for #GNUlinux? (We found one, but it requires #Google #CAPTCHA and #registration to see the code - #notSoOpenSource),

    b) #swipe-ability?

    c) similarly on #android phones is there a #FOSS keyboard with #swipe functionality?

  12. While typing on the physical #keyboard is quicker and more comfortable, and offers a lot more screen estate because it doesn't have to display the #OnScreenKeyboard, I miss the #Emoji key from #GBoard to display the native #Android (#Unicode?) emoji list.

Anyone know a nice solution to this for #Android, perhaps similar to the #Windows #EmojiPicker that can be opened with #keyboardShortcut WinKey+Period?

Atm I resort to temporarily turning off the BT keyboard... which is kinda cumbersome.

That's actually one thing I like better about an #OnScreenKeyboard as used on #Android, such as #gBoard and #HackersKeyboard: easier and more logical access to accented characters and symbols.

Though I wish those layouts were more easily modified than modifying the source code and rolling your own APK, so I could add my own symbols to the long-press alternatives.
