I installed a @musicassistant and playing with it for a while.
It's an audio server that can stream music from multiple sources to multiple players over multiple protocols.
For example I am using #Tidal and my local music in #Jellyfin as a music sources and #NextCloud #GPodder plugin as podcast source.
And I am playing it on Denon receiver over #Heos protocol, on Android TV over #Chromcast or just in the browser on laptop and phone.
It's like a common roof for audio sources and players around you.
It works. It's new, so expect some bugs and rough edges, but it already has better interface than tidal has, so I am using it often as a main player. 👍🎶🔊 -

✅ One Time GDrive Import via WebDAV⚠️ But! @hetzner has to install the ffmpeg library on its StorageShare instances! The missing video thumbnails are a deal breaker! If it needs a paid addon - so be it. I want a premium Nextcloud.

Suite passage sur Qobuz, j'ai aussi changé mon player podcast pour AntennaPod.
J'ai cherché comment sync plusieurs appareils et je suis tombé sur gPodder.
J'ai ensuite rebondi sur opodsync pour avoir une version plus légère.
Et je me suis rendu compte que c'était @bohwaz qui était derrière.
Que je connaissais déjà de @paheko et @pdp_libre
C'est forcément un chouette type :)

@nerdosoph unter https://www.gpodder.net/ kannst dir nen Account anlegen zum syncen. Mit der App spielst du es dann ab. Mangels iOS hab ich die App nicht genutzt, kann also nichts im Detail sagen. Aber es wäre eben eine Option.
Vielleicht gibt es hier andere die #gpodder mit #ios nutzen und was dazu sagen können.

FYI anyone looking to get back into #podcasts
I was using #podurama for a while, but the ads were getting out of hand. Using #pocketcasts seems to be much nicer. If you're looking for something to work with #gpodder https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=allen.town.focus.podcast is really nice. -

Gestern erst gesehen: #AntennaPod kann nicht mehr nur über #gpodder zwischen Geräten synchronisiert werden (was bei mir nie klappte, weil der Service vollkommen überlastet war), sondern auch über #GpodderSync, das man selbst in der #NextCloud hosten kann. Und es ist fantastisch! 🥰

I'm struggling getting #antennapod @AntennaPod syncing to #nextcloud with the #gpodder app working. Register the app works but all sync attempts fail.

@fabian Jo, @AntennaPod nutze ich auch! Mit #GPodder synchronisiert auf mehreren Geräten.

Avec Nextcloud, deux extensions (GPodder-Sync et RePod), et une appli compatible (AntennaPod) je peux écouter mes podcasts sur mon navigateur au bureau, continuer sur mon smartphone dans le bus à la fin de la journée, et terminer sur ma tablette à la maison. (Parfois, j'écoute des longs formats, ok ?)

Gpodder.net used to reliably offer you the ability to synch open source podcasting apps like #Gpodder, #Antennapod, and #Kasts. Is federated podcast synching possible? It does not need a large amount of storage space, and I don't think any identifying information can be gleaned from that metadata.
So anyway, is federated podcast synching possible and how server intensive would it be? #fediverse

Is there a good #Podcast player for Linux that comes at least halfway close to what AntennaPod or Podcast Addict can do*? I gave #gPodder and #GnomePodcasts a try and they can't even remember the playback position, which is one of the most important features for an audiobook / podcast player.
*I have not used PA in like a decade, but even a decade ago it was practically perfect, so it bugs me that Linux app developers don't seem to be copying it enough.
ps.: I know I could use Waydroid to run the Android apps, but that raises its own problems, like all my files now being inside what's essentially a VM image instead of a regular folder. No thank you. Maybe in a few years when Waydroid has better desktop integration and is more stable.

With the current Automattic controversy, I wanted to look into alternatives to Pocket Casts. I have been giving @AntennaPod a spin, and I'm liking it so far, however the lack of a web or desktop app is an issue. In theory, I could sync with #gPodder, though the web or desktop clients are limited https://gpoddernet.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user/clients.html

@liaizon I've had some luck with #AntennaPod plus #gpodder https://www.gpodder.net or http://dir.xiph.org/ in the past, didn't try recently.

#Kasts for Linux has had some updates since the last time I looked at it. They are now a viable alternative for me over #gPodder which has been unstable and unusable for the past year. gPodder used to very reliable, but things got so bad that I was seriously looking at #Clementine as an alternative. Very happy to see that Kasts has stepped up their game.
