Wow, Murena hat mit dem Update auf /e/os/ 4.1.1. mal eben das Backup kaputtgemacht.

Bisherige App ganz leise durch eine andere ersetzt. Statt lokalem Speicher jetzt nur noch Murena-Cloud.

Kein Warnhinweis, dass man die alten Backups nicht mehr aufrufen kann, keine Aufforderung das Backup neu zu konfigurieren.

SO habe ich mir nicht Google-freies Betriebssystem vorgestellt.

Ich sag es mal so.. dieses /e/OS Update 4.1.1 ist schon nervig.
Ich nutze den Murena Workspace schon sehr gerne. Und die einzige App, die da noch synchronisiert ist die Fotogallerie.

Mails wären nett, tut aber nicht mehr. Notizen nutze ich extrem häufig. Ich hab da jetzt einen unterschiedlichen Stand zwischen der App und dem Workspace.

Ich muss mir jetzt gerade angewöhnen regelmäßig über den Workspace nach Mails zu schauen und nicht auf die Benachrichtigung der App vertrauen.

Ok. #newphone time. Want to #degoogle so do i go #sailfish #volla or #murena ? I love the @jolla phone but the @volla one would also do Ubuntu and looks interesting. The @WeAreFairphone and @murena is in the lead so far purely because of the green colour.

My current is a S24 and has at least 2 useful years left but with the changes google are planning to do I don't really think its an option.

I really wish Windows Phone took off, or PalmOS. They were bloody cool.

@murena I received the latest update today on my #fairphone6 and since then the WiFi connection is really bad. If i try to load a webpage, it takes a long time (if it even loads). Mobile data works fine. Is this a known issue? #fairphone #murena #eos

Haben eigentlich noch mehr Personen so große Probleme mit der Performance diverser Apps nach dem Update auf /e/OS v4.1.1.1? Das ist ja die reinste Zumutung, einige Apps laden einfach gar nicht mehr. Abmeldung, Neuinstallation und Neustart/Herunterfahren des Smartphones bringt nichts.

Die #appdwang naar Android en Apple irriteert mij ook. We worden naar Big-Tech toe gedwongen, en dat in deze tijd.

Ik zou het fijn vinden als de #EU een regel zou maken die banken dwingt, naast Big-Tech, ook open systeem te ondersteunen, via F-droid.
Die alternatieve systemen zijn er, we hoeven ze alleen maar groot te maken.

I'm going to upgrade and see where this is going. The main reason for this is my now working banking app (Triodos) and DigID (Dutch government ID app). But I will still try to find an alternative for when it goes wrong again. You can of course draw your own conclusion.

✏️ edit: My OTA update is not yet ready. It's a so called staggered release, so this was expected.

@bartek Ta jedna wada LineageOS tj. że nie jest skonfigurowany od razu po instalacji, sprawia, że nawet nie rozważam LineageOS i zdecydowanie wybieram system /e/. Nie chcę tracić czasu na konfigurowanie i w ogóle zajmowanie się sprawami technicznymi. System /e/ umożliwia mi korzystanie z całej masy dobrze skonfigurowanych rzeczy od razu po instalacji, w tym z przestrzeni Nextcloud w ramach #Murena która po prostu ułatwia życie. Jeśli miałbym sam to wszystko sobie konfigurować, to pewnie korzystałbym ze zwykłego googlowego Androida - na co nie mam żadnej chęci.

A oddolny marketing eOS to jest po prostu społeczność zadowolonych użytkowników. Jestem jednym z nich.

Frage an die DiDay-Community: ich nutze als Test parallel Qwant und Ecosia. Gerade Qwant wird mit Datenschutz beworben, aber mein Fairphone 6 blockt all diese Tracker. Bei Ecosia nur einen. Wie ist Qwant in der Hinsicht zu bewerten? Ich kenne mich da nicht gut aus. Danke vorab!

⚠️ Don't update from /e/OS 4.0 to 4.1.1! The main reason is that @murena removed #Seedvault. They replaced it with their own backup app (based on Seedvault as I've heard) that only can backup to their own cloud! The problem with this is that you now have to pay for a backup, because who has a backup below 1GB. 🤷🏻

Yes, you've heard it right, #Murena goes vendor lock-in! It's now 100% clear that it's not about a Google alternative, but about their own payed services (what is just a customized Nextcloud).

There are also some other bugs, that only will be fixed in 4.2 or 4.3, but nothing about the Seedvault removal. So people can't choose their backup location anymore. Multiple people asked on their forum, but no definitive answer was given. See here: https://community.e.foundation/t/feedback-for-v4-1-1.

This is not their first time they messed it up. They also removed Material You, so they force you to use blue accent colours.

Hopefully someone knows how to safely migrate to #LineageOS or another reliable custom ROM for a #Fairphone 6?

Deze app werkt niet op het grootste Europese mobiele OS, /e/OS (>100.000 gebruikers). We komen graag in contact met de ontwikkelaars van deze app, want dit is absoluut niet nodig.
