Installed #e os from #murena on an old xiaomi phone, just to test the waters. So far very happy! My banking apps seem to do the trick, and everything else seems to work just fine as well. Think I'll stick with this phone for the time being until it dies a natural death, at which point I'll simply repeat the process with my fairphone 5!

Nachdem ich im Januar und Februar über meinen Umstieg von der Google Welt hinzu Murena geschrieben hatte, dachte ich mir noch, dass ich im Sommer irgendwann nochmal ein paar Takte darüber verlieren sollte. Wow, Murena hat mit dem Update auf /e/os/ 4.1.1. mal eben das Backup kaputtgemacht.
Bisherige App ganz leise durch eine andere ersetzt. Statt lokalem Speicher jetzt nur noch Murena-Cloud.
Kein Warnhinweis, dass man die alten Backups nicht mehr aufrufen kann, keine Aufforderung das Backup neu zu konfigurieren.
SO habe ich mir nicht Google-freies Betriebssystem vorgestellt.

Ich muss mir jetzt gerade angewöhnen regelmäßig über den Workspace nach Mails zu schauen und nicht auf die Benachrichtigung der App vertrauen.

Ok. #newphone time. Want to #degoogle so do i go #sailfish #volla or #murena ? I love the @jolla phone but the @volla one would also do Ubuntu and looks interesting. The @WeAreFairphone and @murena is in the lead so far purely because of the green colour.
My current is a S24 and has at least 2 useful years left but with the changes google are planning to do I don't really think its an option.
I really wish Windows Phone took off, or PalmOS. They were bloody cool.

I used an /e/ OS-powered Teracube 2e as my daily driver phone from September 2021 to November 2022. @murena I received the latest update today on my #fairphone6 and since then the WiFi connection is really bad. If i try to load a webpage, it takes a long time (if it even loads). Mobile data works fine. Is this a known issue? #fairphone #murena #eos

Is there here in the Fediverse anyone with experience using Android Auto on /e/OS?
I understand that Android auto requires Google Apps, which isn’t ideal from a privacy perspective. In that case, I wouldn’t use Google Maps but Sygic instead.
I’m also hoping that if certain Google apps are required, this won’t immediately compromise the entire phone.I also read on doc.e.foundation/os/how-to/and… that there are options available. However, that information is for /e/OS 2. /e/OS 4.1 has since been released. Perhaps there have been changes in the meantime that affect this.
