    HANTAVIRUS AND ANDES VIRUS 101

As a trained medical professional, I feel the need to inform and raise awareness of the latest MV Hondius (cruise ship) hantavirus outbreak in early May 2026.

Here is a quick rundown of facts about hantavirus in general...

Lots of links in the Link Roundup, updated my changelog to reflect latest updates (it was very neglected for the last 3 months), and trying to figure out how to fix my Git mistake.

The Dictionary on M1 Mac crashed twice. I ran Disk Utility and my data volume dev/rdisk3s1 was 'found to be corrupt and needs to be repaired'. The log says 'performing deferred repairs', 'it appears to be OK'. But when I run it again the same corrupt message reappears. 😔 In recovery mode, tried running fsck_apfs but can't do anything: 'failed to enable crypto I/O mode for container /dev/rdisk3s1: invalid argument'. Will try turning off fire fault.

    I worked on a new feat on my blog : a stylesheet for XML content ( ). It was easy in —just a `static/style.xsl` and add `{{- printf "<?xml-stylesheet href=\"/style.xsl\" type=\"text/xsl\"?>" | safeHTML -}}`.

I have migrated to and for quite a long time already, but never got round to uninstalling . I just did! 🍾

It did leave behind more than what the docs (mzl.la/1xKrDkl) say.

Using `find ~ -name "*firefox*"`, I found the rest of the files and deleted them.

I use diagrams sometimes on my Hugo blog. It came with the theme I had so I learnt to use it. I am not sure when/what caused all my diagrams to all fail on the live site (I just noticed it). I couldn't fix it quickly, so I resorted to using their latest ESM JS via CDN for now.

Made my first little contribution to @gohugoio documentation yesterday! It's about installing in the CI workflow on Builds, which I'm using to deploy my Hugo site to my static host of choice: Bunny.net.

    (libsass is deprecated in Hugo)

I learnt a bit more Git during the pull request too—about rebasing, but I'm still not very good at it (merging the changes is a bit confusing to me).

Anyone using git.sr.ht notice `git push` acting really slowly for the past few days? It was never like this before... Increased server load?

    Example: Writing 11 objects, 1.2KB only. `time git push` took 1m3s total, 0.05s user, 0.04s system, 0% CPU.

Update: I think the error is local to me; I had some errors on `git fsck` and I streamlined `.build.yml`. It seems to be fixed now.

My 4B is acting up and I think it's data corruption(?) from not powering off properly when it stopped responding. I really need to buy a switch to shutdown safely...

I formatted the SSD (SMART status seems ok), flashed the latest and slowly setting back my services.

This is a great chance for me to actually sort out the messy initial setup of experimenting with I'm in the process of setting up a job with , & dietpi-backup now. 🤞

Finally decided to take my first actions on migrating away from GitHub.com () by moving my burgeonlab.com static blog out of GitHub Pages to Bunny.net Storage + CDN.

Also, I've decided to go for @sourcehut as my Git repo host—but that warrants its own post.

Realized there's other formats for export: .kml and .tcx. TCX has the most data (time, sensor data, elevation, etc)

This site offers merging of TCX with GPX (and other tools): gotoes.org/gotoes/strava/

I found a Python script that converts TCX to GPX that I've yet to try: github.com/pascalmariany/tcx2g

The elevation data this time is also from the TCX data, instead of generated by Mapbox via GPX.studio. I am guessing it should be more accurate.
