My current daily drivers, I love these pens and I love eye droppers, they just look awesome and I'm a sucker for demonstrators. The Nemosine pen has a custom hand carved ebonite feed (done by yours truly meaning it tends to burp lol) and it writes pretty nice with medium wetness. OS Nitrogen is cool but damn it takes forever to dry!
I really need to write more and catalog all of my inks.

Cleaned out all the pens and filled some up. I have enough inks that I can use a different colour every time I fill some up. But I definately have a couple I keep coming back to. It's really satisfying seeing the ink level go down in the bottle..
I didn't plan it this way but today turned out to be diamine-day. I have some other bottles you can really see the levels go down in, but that peach haze and meadow is way down 😊

Turns out today was ideed #newinkday. I've had a bunch of pens written empty for a while so I finally cleaned them and then filled up some others (and some of the same).
The Dominant industry inks are new to me. Maple was way more subdued than I had thought from images, but it seems like a great winter ink 🙂
I got inspired to put a real wide nib on the studio, so that one doesn't count towards my max inked. I'll hardly be able to use it 😆

So, a few days ago I cleaned & filled my Hexo with Parker Quink Blue-Black ink. Just now, I decided to doodle a bit on photo paper to see how the ink behaves on smooth/shiny surfaces. Spoiler alert: Besides Schneider's Royal Blue for the rollerballpen, I've found my new everyday blue for fountainpens. 😁
Picture 1 (printed with the ship photo): AgfaPhoto Glossy inkjet paper 4" x 6":
Oh my gosh, what a terribly bad paper! Even during the test print for my printer settings, the photo came out looking shabby. And when writing with the fountain pen, the ink was absorbed poorly and unevenly.
Picture 2, Tetenal Spectre PE Lustre inkjet paper 4" x 6", ~ 12-15 years expired:
The Quink fountain pen ink applies well, has sharp edges, and even on this very old paper, it immediately seeps under the PE protective layer and dries instantly, just like printer inks do (and should!). I didn't expect the Quink to work so well on photo paper.
Unfortunately, Tetenal Spectre has been out of production for a long time and I'm currently living off my remaining stock. Oh, and on regular paper, the Quink Blue-Black behaves just as well. I'm in love! 🙂🙃🤩

@solcita just the one inked at the moment – my much loved Pilot 823 with FA nib from Tokyo Quill, inked with Iroshizuku Kiri Same (a gorgeous grey).
I don't use it anywhere near often enough to get a decent hand with it, but I love it all the same.

For today’s notes I’m using my Sailor Kintoki carrot, a much beloved pen that I bought during a trip in Japan.
I actually first learnt about Kyōyasai (京野菜) thanks to this series of pens by Sailor x Kingdom Note. The one I have is inspired by Kintoki carrots (金時にんじん) that have a much longer and redder root than regular ones, (accordingly, the pen is red rather than orange).
It’s inked with Diamine Terracotta.

For today’s notes, I used my Jinhao 82. It’s my first Jinhao, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I was not expecting much for this price, but it writes very well and the EF nib feels smooth. Also, the converter that came with it is one of the best I have.It’s inked with Pilot Iroshizuku Tsukushi (土筆). It’s one of my favourite brown inks with Diamine Saddle Brown, and it matches the colour of the barrel exactly! (The picture is not very good sadly.)
