La IA sigue haciendo de las suyas. En su hambre voraz por invadirlo todo, ahora acaricia con sus tentáculos una de las piezas de software libre más exitosas y con solera, Blender. De primeras la noticia no es necesariamente mala: Anthropic se convierte en patrocinados que apoya económicamente al proyecto.

Si la cosa no pasa de ahí, si no hay ningún tipo de injerencia, ya podemos darnos con un canto en los dientes. Pero hasta confiando en ello, nos podemos encontrar ante la misma trampa que Google le puso a Firefox al financiar a su competencia hasta conseguir que su supervivencia dependiese casi completamente de ellos.

Este patrocinio se anuncia el mismo día en que Claude (la IA de Anthropic) presenta la integración de su Inteligencia Artificial en el flujo de trabajo con programas de Adobe, Affinity, Autodesk y Blender. Ojalá esto solo sean delirios de un agorero pero todo esto ya me suena demasiado conocido como para creer en un halagüeño futuro.

Well, credit where credit's due: Firefox implemented the AI blocking that many of us were clamoring for. Go into the settings, search for "AI", and scroll all the way to the bottom. The screenshot depicts what my settings were immediately after updating, where I'd previously used about:config to shut off some things using flags.

P.S. Zen Browser is a nice derivative of Firefox that implements much of what I liked about Vivaldi. If you want a more minimalist UI and/or tab tiling, it's worth checking out.

Weil ich immer wieder drübergestoßen bin, hier kurz zusammengefasst.

Alternative?
Waterfox, ein KI-freier Firefox-Fork. Mozilla-Konto nutzbar, damit ist ein Sync zwischen versch. Geräten wie gewohnt nutzbar, auch eine Android-App gibt es.

Je nach Distribution in Terminal eingeben:

sudo dnf remove firefox && flatpak install flathub net.waterfox.waterfox

sudo apt remove firefox && flatpak install flathub net.waterfox.waterfox

Hoy vengo a jugar fuerte con algo que comento en muchísimos cursos para concienciar del peligro de usar el gestor de contraseñas integrado en el navegador. Pero en este artículo no se conforman con asustar al personal sino que muestra muy claramente cómo obtener las contraseñas.

Así que vuelvo a insistir en que, si vas a usar ese tipo de gestor de contraseñas, al menos toma todas las precauciones posibles.
